Release list
VitalLens 1.0.0
First public release. Core Web Vitals monitoring for WordPress.
VitalLens tracks LCP, INP and CLS for the pages you choose through the Google PageSpeed Insights API, stores every check, names the element behind each failure, and emails you while a page is still passing but running out of margin.
Install this build
Download vitallens.1.0.0.zip below, then in WordPress go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
Use that file, not the "Source code" archives. Those are the repository, not the plugin: they unpack to a folder named vitallens-wordpress-1.0.0 and include the README, documentation images and dotfiles. The attached zip unpacks to vitallens with exactly the 23 files the plugin needs.
Verify it before installing — the sidecar covers the attached zip only:

What's in it
- Tracks LCP, INP and CLS per page on a schedule, and keeps the full history
- Labels every reading real visitors, origin only or lab only, so a lab score is never mistaken for what visitors experienced
- Names the element behind each failure, what caused it, and how much of the score it accounts for, from seventeen Lighthouse diagnostic audits
- Email alerts judged on how much of the remaining margin a change consumed, not on percentage change
- Alerts when checks stop running, which on a low-traffic site WP-Cron does silently
- A two-dot status column on Posts and Pages, and a dashboard widget
- CSV export, and a printable report that saves as a PDF from the browser
- Automatic backups to the uploads folder on deactivation, restored in one click
Requirements
WordPress 6.2+ · PHP 7.4+ · a free Google PageSpeed Insights API key — no billing account, 25,000 calls a day.
Status
Submitted to the WordPress plugin directory and awaiting review. This download is how to install it in the meantime. The repository at this tag additionally carries the GPL licence text and the README, both added after the package was submitted; the plugin code is identical.
