Recently I have seen some backlash regarding the roadmap, that has been published last week!
However before I start I want to make clear, that the roadmap is not permanent and is likely going to change.
Now I have seen many people in the community being upset about the Roadmap, because the second most wanted feature by the community, which was companions/pets, is last. I can definitly see how this looks very strange, due to this feature being so popular it should be one of the next features added. However if you take a look at the other features you will see, that these include core game mechanics, which also impact the development of the pets. Hence a y Collision would impact pets, because they have to follow the player upwards aswell or the dropping of items could be used to feed the pets. As you can see other features greatly impact pets and developing these features first is very important to see what I am capable of achieving and how pets can be implemented arround these limitations. My point is that pets/companions isn't a core part of the game and can/should be developed at a later state of the game. Nevertheless I do see your feedback and your
longingof pets. Therefore I can see myself pushing pets higher up in the roadmap, but I want to hear your feedback first, becauseOathBoundwas and still is a game for the community!I hope this cleared things up and now I can move on to something more exciting, because a new massive update is on the horizon with version 0.4.0! This update will mainly consist of much more story to explore and the first point on the roadmap:
