OpenUML 0.1.9
Installers for Windows (64-bit), macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (64-bit AppImage).
Check the downloads against SHA256SUMS.txt.
The builds are not code-signed (that needs paid Apple and Microsoft certificates), so
each system warns on first launch:
- Windows: SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway.
- macOS: open the
.dmg(or unzip), drag OpenUML to Applications, then right-click it and
choose Open (or System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway). - Linux:
chmod +x OpenUML-*.AppImage && ./OpenUML-*.AppImage. Without FUSE 2, add
--appimage-extract-and-run.
Highlights
- Dark canvas: draw your diagrams on a dark canvas with View > Dark Canvas or
Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+D, or choose Light, Dark or Follow App in Preferences. Your file does not change, and exports stay light unless you ask for dark ones. - Every diagram ready when you open a file: Working Diagrams and the tabs list all the diagrams of a file, in Model Explorer order.
- Export button: the toolbar has one Export button that offers PNG or PDF.
- Update notice: a newer version is offered on every start, and after Later the window title keeps showing it.
- Model Explorer: it shows the path to the selected row, rows can be dropped between rows, and Show Diagrams Only lists just the diagrams and the containers that lead to them.
- IDEF0: Spread Boundary Arrows gives every arrow on the frame edge its own spot, new boundary arrows take a free spot, and their bends no longer share one line. Automatic routes in existing files can change when they open.
- Sequence diagrams: lifelines have an Is Actor box, and Add Diagram places the new diagram beside the current one.
- Critical fixes: saving, undo and redo, copy and paste, deletion rules on IDEF0 and RAD diagrams, auto-save, dialogs, and closing the window after repeated crashes.

Highlights
- IDEF0 parent-arrow assignment: arrows of the parent diagram wait as pending stubs on the child diagram (A0, A1…) until they are connected. Click a stub to pick its boxes in a table (several boxes make a fork or join), or use the new Advanced Arrows panel (View › Panels, or right-click the diagram in the Model Explorer) to assign every parent arrow in a matrix of arrows × boxes. Disconnections ask first and everything undoes with Cmd/Ctrl+Z. Pending stubs spread so they never overlap.
- IDEF0 fixes: a boundary arrow takes its side from where the drag comes from; an arrow's role comes from the side it enters a box; new boxes get unique names; renaming an IDEF0 diagram sticks; copy and paste never duplicates a parent arrow's port; tunneled parent arrows are not left pending.
What's Changed
