Everything a modder can write into their own XML files to use Production Revamp. Production Revamp extends the vanilla elements instead of replacing them: an existing production, silo or greenhouse XML keeps working unchanged, and every Revamp setting is an addition that can be added individually.

For players, the place for these explanations is not this wiki but the help menu in the game: there, under "Production Revamp", is a separate section with one page per topic of operation.

The pages

Page Contents
Recipes and Ingredients Mix groups, boosters and master boosters, fill type categories as an ingredient, ingredient and booster choice, visibility and auto-start of a line
Weather and Time Opening hours, seasons, months, the six weather modes and the weather-dependent storage
Animals as Ingredient Triggers for animal trailers, age and health limits, amounts per animal
Buying and Selling Prices, who may trade, lock per good
Distribution The four distribution levels, upper limits, delivery costs
Unloading and Spawners Taking out goods at the silo, pallets, bales, logs, custom pallet models per fill type
Displays on the Building Objects that grow with the fill level and the digit display
Placeable Types RevampProductionPoint, RevampSilo, RevampGreenhouse and the dependency they require
Connecting Other Mods revamp_extension.xml: registering your own buildings and your own goods, without Lua
Settings What a server admin can switch off and what that means for your own XML

Where the Revamp settings go

Two different places that are easy to mix up:

  • Under <productionPoint> go all settings for recipes, storage, weather and animals. They extend vanilla's own productionPoint block and need no special placeable type.
  • Directly under <placeable> go <revampObjectFillLevels>, <revampDisplays> and <revampSpawner>. These are separate specializations that the placeable pulls in through its type attribute — this requires a Revamp placeable type.

Two things that always apply

An error in the XML never discards the whole production point. Revamp reports an unusable value as an XML error in the log and continues with the default, or skips exactly that one entry. A look into the log after placing it for the first time is therefore always worthwhile — it shows, with file name and XML path, what did not fit.

A factor is always multiplicative, 1 is the neutral value. This applies to boostFactor, weatherFactor and all other factors and matches vanilla's own convention (for example foodFactor in animal husbandry). In the FS22 Revamp, booster values were partly meant additively, see the porting notes under Recipes and Ingredients.
