cannot install

I wanted to install this project, but:

I'm not sure what AUR is and we don't manage it. It is clearly years out of date. Please install from GitHub. There are a number of ways documented on our installation pages that should work.

Please do give me a link to where you found AUR so I can follow up on that.

I tracked down AUR for Arch Linux and sent an e-mail asking for the entry to be removed, but if you have access to that repo and can note that the GSAS-II entry is way out of date and should not be used, that would be helpful.

The bug you have above seems to be an incompatibility between a dependency for a Python package (probably wxPython) in conda-forge and your Linux distribution. Not something I can address, but possibly worth reporting if you can figure out where.

To use GSAS-II, you are going to need to install Python and its packages from the dist and/or using pip (or sources). A mix of conda and pip might work. The package needs will depend on how you will use GSAS-II and are discussed in the source docs, here. Here are some GSAS-II docs on Python installation.

There are several ways to install and build GSAS-II, once you have the Python prerequisites taken care of. Use of pixi is the easiest, but makes updating more difficult; a script is provided that downloads and build GSAS-II from sources or you can run meson yourself.

I'll leave this open for now, in case you have any follow-up.
