ScriptZ v0.12.0 - Account and sync, new AI connections and smoother updates

What's new

  • Account and sync between devices: sign up or sign in once, connect ScriptZ, done. Your scripts, ideas, folders and settings stay in step across your devices - no codes to write down, transfer encrypted and stored encrypted in the EU. The sync status stays quiet ("Synced") and only speaks up when something needs your attention.
  • More ways to run Ida: besides ChatGPT (Codex), Ida can now run with your own OpenRouter key - no account needed. All connections can do exactly the same: same tasks, same tools, same memory.
    • With your own key you can pick any suitable OpenRouter model from a searchable list, with a recommended default at the top.
    • Running Ida with your AgentZ account is coming soon.
  • Hide the AI completely: if you don't want an assistant, turn it off in onboarding or in Settings > Agent. Every AI button, menu entry and shortcut disappears; your chats and memory are kept if you turn it back on.
  • Report a problem: when signed in, a small button at the bottom right lets you tell us what went wrong in a sentence. ScriptZ attaches technical details (version, system, recent errors - never your scripts) so we can help faster. You can hide the button and bring it back in Settings > Appearance.
  • Updates without interruptions: new versions download in the background and install when you quit, after everything is saved. ScriptZ never restarts on its own; "Restart now" is there if you want the update right away.
  • Trash empties itself: scripts in the trash are deleted for good after 30 days, and each one shows how many days it has left.
  • Calmer lists: folder chips on Inbox, All scripts and every stage page; a compact Inbox with the 10 newest ideas, more on request, and an optional two-column layout.
  • Better defaults: scripts open in the large view, and character colors in the text are on unless you chose otherwise.

Fixes

  • Opening a script from a list, stage, folder or the board is instant again (it could take about 4 seconds).
  • Runtimes match everywhere: Ida no longer estimates runtimes herself but uses the same numbers as the editor and the draft panel, and an empty action line no longer adds 2 seconds.
  • On macOS, the first launch of a downloaded installer no longer reports the app as "damaged"; you can allow it in System Settings without using the Terminal.

Updating

Install the update from the app's update indicator, or download the installer below. Your scripts, ideas and settings are kept.

Installation (first time only)

macOS (Apple Silicon)

  1. Download the .dmg below and open it.
  2. Drag ScriptZ.app into your Applications folder.
  3. Open ScriptZ from the Applications folder. The app is not yet
notarized by Apple, so the first launch stops with "Apple could not
verify ScriptZ is free of malware". Click Done.
  4. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to
"ScriptZ was blocked" and click Open Anyway. Confirm once
more with Open Anyway and your password.
  5. From there on, ScriptZ launches normally. Auto-updates need no
    further steps.

Windows (x64)

  1. Download the .exe installer below and run it.
  2. On first launch, Windows SmartScreen kicks in: "Windows
protected your PC". The app is not signed (no EV code-signing
certificate), so SmartScreen doesn't know it yet.
  3. Click "More info", then the button that appears: "Run
    anyway"
    .
  4. From there on, ScriptZ runs normally. Auto-updates work without
    any further friction.

Without step 3, SmartScreen aborts the launch. That's Windows
protection, not the app.
