🔄 Auto updates

  • StarPlayrX now checks GitHub for a newer Mac release shortly after launch and every 6 hours. When one is there it asks: Update (downloads the signed build, verifies the Developer ID signature, swaps the app in place and relaunches), Remind Me in 1 Hour, or No Thanks (that version isn't offered again; the next one is)
  • Nothing is installed unless the download is signed by StarPlayrX's developer and carries the same bundle identifier; if the app folder isn't writable it points you to the download page instead
  • New AppleScript command check for updates (returns the newer version, or empty when up to date)
  • Pre-releases are only offered when defaults write com.starplayrx.mac updatePrereleases -bool YES

🎨 Channel list

  • Playing row: the highlight squircle now ends 8 pt from the window edge on both sides (half the old gap), with the stars still lined up
  • Softer highlight gradient in light mode (fades to 5% black; dark mode stays at 35%)

📦 Install

  1. Download StarPlayrX-Mac-1.1.17.dmg (or the .zip)
  2. Move StarPlayrX.app to Applications and open it
  3. Click the 📻 icon in the menu bar
