Follow artists

Follow an artist from their page and hear when they put something out. If the page came from YouTube Music and you're signed in, the follow is mirrored onto that account too, so the two don't drift.

Checked every six hours on Wi-Fi. This is a poll, not a push: Agro can only reach the phone over the sync socket, which is open while the app is on screen — exactly when a notification is least useful. Real background delivery would mean Firebase, which this app doesn't carry and which would tie a self-hosted setup to Google.

Following someone announces nothing on the first check. Their back catalogue isn't news.

One release toggle, not two. The old "Notify me about new releases" in About was for app updates, not music. It's gone, along with its background worker. The new switch — "New music from artists you follow" — lives in External. The version row and check-on-launch toggle stay: they're how the app updates at all.

Friends and Activity

The Friends tab and profile pages now open on the same shape as album and artist pages. There's no cover image to use — Wanda hosts no uploads, and stretching an avatar into a banner is a blur — so they're painted in the colours each avatar is already drawn from. The Friends band is one stripe per friend: a picture of your roster and nobody else's.

Messages and Circle are now one Activity screen. Circle events, songs friends sent you, and new releases from artists you follow, newest first, with a filter across the top. Checking whether anything happened used to be two journeys from two tiles.

Conversations still open as their own screen — tapping a shared song now goes straight into that exchange instead of dumping you in a list of every conversation. The circle recap also keeps its screen, reached from the Activity header: a leaderboard filed between two things that happened on Tuesday isn't news.

Old wanda://inbox notifications still resolve, and now land on Activity.

Under it

Artists are first-class rows on the server now, keyed on the same normalisation the library matcher uses, so "Tyler, The Creator" and "tyler the creator" are one artist and one subscription.
