Board and Cards

The Board is a project's own work surface. Every piece of work is a card, numbered C-<n> per project and stored by Nautelle rather than GitHub. A card can run its own dedicated agent worker. The Board also mirrors the work your terminal sessions and the orchestrator fleet are doing, so you see everything in progress on one screen.

Columns

Column What it holds
Inbox suggestions from Capture (operators only; hidden on phones while empty)
To Do accepted work waiting to run
In progress a running worker, or a round that is not done and green yet
Finished done and green; merged or waiting for Accept
Completed accepted by a person; starts folded and shows the newest 50

Every column header can be folded to a narrow strip. A card's place is decided by one shared move rule:

  • a drag never starts a worker by itself;
  • an active round keeps the card in In progress, unless it moves to Finished or the worker is stopped;
  • automation never moves a card to Completed and never moves a completed card.

The card face

A card face shows, in four rows:

  1. Header: C-n, a Bug chip, the attachment count, the dependency chip, the cost, and the card's menu.
  2. Title: opens the card.
  3. Status: the source badge (Terminal, Fleet or Suggested), design badges, the latest round as a status pill (Running, Waiting for you, Failed, Stopped), and the shipping badge.
  4. Footer: the PR with its CI dot, and the issue.

Token Saver adds saved ≈ $x, Steward adds a chip while an incident is open, and Context Handoff adds a chip when a round resumed from a handoff note.

Opening a card

  • Click the title to open the card sheet on the right. It holds the Run, Design and Rounds sections and the editable card form. The description renders as Markdown; Edit switches to the text field.
  • Open as page opens the same content as a full page at /projects/<id>/board/cards/<n>, so you can open cards in new tabs.

The card menu holds Open, Run (or Run again), Mark finished, Feedback…, Accept, Open terminal (admins), Stop worker and Delete.

Moving cards

  • Drag a card between columns on desktop. Dragging into In progress asks Run · Just move · Cancel. Leaving In progress while a worker runs asks to stop it.
  • Move in the card menu, the sheet or the card page opens a column picker. This is the way to move cards on a phone, where drag does not start.

Selecting several cards

Select cards to act on all of them at once: move to Completed, back to To Do, mark Finished or delete (1–100 cards per action).

  • A checkbox on each card face; Cmd/Ctrl+click toggles a card; Shift+click selects a range inside a column.
  • Select all in a column header respects the active filter.
  • Cmd/Ctrl+A selects the column under the pointer; Esc clears the selection.

Bulk Completed is a move only: pull requests are left as they are. Plan tasks and Inbox suggestions cannot be selected.

Dependencies, readiness and Auto-run

A card can run after other cards (enter 12 or C-12 under Depends on). Cycles and cards of another project are refused.

  • A To Do card with dependencies shows Ready when every dependency is accepted, meaning it is in Completed, or Waiting · 1 of 2 otherwise.
  • Run with an open dependency warns and offers Run anyway. Moving and Accept are never blocked.
  • Auto-run when ready (in the card's Run options, off by default) starts the Run once the last open dependency is accepted, as the person who accepted it. If the start is refused, for example because there is no free worker or the budget is exhausted, the card stays in To Do with a Didn't start badge and the reason.

Terminal work on the Board

When the Nautelle plugin is installed, a Claude Code session in your own terminal calls track_card for each piece of work you ask for. The tool creates a card In progress, marked Terminal and linked to the session; a second call from the same session updates that card. No worker is started. When the session ends or calls finish_card, the card moves to Finished.

Nothing is pushed by default, because the session is your own work on your own branch. Turn on the card's automatic work option, or the project default Automatic work for terminal sessions, to commit leftovers, push and open a PR when the session ends.

Fleet work on the Board

Every slot the orchestrator dispatches appears as a card marked Fleet. Its column follows the slot: In progress while it works, Finished once the PR is open or merged. A ready issue that has not been dispatched yet shows as one fleet card in To Do. A person moves fleet cards to Completed; the orchestrator never does.

Inbox and Capture

Capture is opt-in per project and needs session content to be on. A small model on the project's own runner reads the new prompts and replies of your manual sessions and suggests up to 5 "later" items at a time. Each suggestion shows the model's one-line reason, its confidence and a link to the source session.

  • Accept or Edit & accept… puts it at the top of To Do.
  • Dismiss remembers the title for 90 days, so it is not suggested again.

Nothing is accepted automatically.

Attachments

Files and screenshots can be attached to a card or to a New work request. The API stores them on a local volume and delivers them to the worker. The type allowlist, the size limit and the per-card count limit apply everywhere, Telegram included.

Stored text is English

Free text people save is stored in English: card titles and bodies, feedback, design comments, plan briefs and answers.

  • With DEEPL_API_KEY set on the API, DeepL translates during the save.
  • Otherwise, or when DeepL fails, a small model on the project's runner translates it after the save.

Under each translated text, Show original shows what was typed. Text that could not be normalized is marked, with a Retry for operators.

The Work page

Work (/work) lists board cards, legacy plan tasks and, for operators, Inbox suggestions across all your projects in one table. List · Board switches between it and a project's Board. New work starts an intake for the filtered project.
