Should drop_params be true by default?

We're considering making this true by default, since it seems like a more "works out of the box" value than false (i.e., the use-cases for it being false are fewer than otherwise)

I think setting it to true by default is a good idea, especially since the error state in the case of drop_params: False is a failed request. But there definitely should be some logging that parameters were dropped.
