RadioMaster+ 1.3.2: YouTube Channel Browsing
RadioMaster+ 1.3.2
Browse subscribed YouTube channels and reach their older uploads.
Channel browsing
- Selecting a subscription in My Channels loads that channel's videos. Press Enter or choose View Videos to move to the video list, then select a video and press Enter to play it.
- Load More Videos appends older uploads in batches of 100, replacing the previous limit of 30 videos. Continue until the status reports End of channel videos.
- Saved channel IDs use the public uploads playlist, which can include Shorts and archived live uploads. Overlapping pages do not add duplicate videos.
- Fractional video durations are formatted safely instead of interrupting the results list.
Loading and recovery
- Channel loading runs in the background. Rapid selections are combined, and late results cannot replace a newer channel, search, or playlist.
- Failed requests report an error instead of appearing to be empty channels. View Videos retries a failed first load; Load More Videos retries a later page while preserving the videos already shown.
- Interrupted pages retain partial results and can be retried with Load More Videos instead of incorrectly reporting the end of the channel.
- Moving quickly through subscriptions avoids starting a load for every row. Closing the application prevents outstanding results from updating closed panels.
Help
- Updated the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, in-app release history, and feature sign-off checklist with channel browsing, pagination, and retry instructions.
Limits
- Subscriptions are stored locally in RadioMaster+ and do not change your YouTube account.
- Private, removed, region-restricted, or otherwise inaccessible videos may not be available. Use Help > Update YouTube Library if extraction stops working.
RadioMaster+ 1.3.1: Webpage Stream Finder
RadioMaster+ 1.3.1
Find radio stream URLs from webpages and recover cleanly from playback failures.
Webpage stream finder
- Open Radio > Add Custom Station, enter a Webpage URL, and choose Scan Webpage.
- The finder follows listen links, embedded players, audio sources, static player configurations, and M3U, PLS, ASX, and HLS playlists.
- Select a result and choose Use Selected Stream to fill Stream Address, or Copy Stream URL to copy it without saving a station.
- Scans run in the background with time and link limits. Stop Scan and Cancel remain available, and late results cannot update a closed dialog.
- Native controls support keyboard navigation and have screen-reader names.
Radio playback fixes
- UNISA Radio and other iono.fm
/s/player links resolve to audio before BASS opens them. - Stream failures preserve their original BASS error code instead of reporting a misleading error 0.
- Corrected the SSL error constant used by the fallback path.
- Initial stream-open failures stop automatic retries. Error dialogs cannot stack, and another station can be selected after a failure.
- Automatic reconnection still recovers a broadcast that drops after successful playback.
Help
- Updated the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, in-app release history, and feature sign-off checklist.
Limits
- Players requiring JavaScript execution or a signed-in browser may not expose a stream. Try a specific Listen Live or embedded-player page if a homepage scan finds nothing.
- Some stream URLs expire and need to be discovered again.
RadioMaster+ 1.3.0
RadioMaster+ 1.3.0
A large feature release: real crossfade, much better DAISY audiobooks, and the interface in nine languages.
Playback
- Crossfade now overlaps local playlist tracks: the outgoing track fades out while the next fades in for the duration set in Settings > Playback. Radio, podcasts, video and online streams still change over directly.
- Normalize audio (EBU R128) measures local files in the background on first play and adjusts their volume.
- Dynamic Range now converts its dB threshold correctly; the equalizer uses one filter per band (the 32 and 64 Hz sliders share an 80 Hz filter).
- End of Track and End of Playlist sleep timer modes now work. Live radio stops when the countdown ends.
Audiobooks
- DAISY 2.02 and DAISY 3 books are read through their navigation and SMIL files: every chapter and page has its own audio file, start point, text and duration.
- New Go to Page, Previous Page and Next Page (with assignable shortcuts), a Bookmarks list with Go To, chapter text with sentence highlighting during Read with TTS, and automatic advance to the next chapter.
- A second speech engine: Windows OneCore voices.
Interface
- Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified). The translations are unreviewed drafts; run-time status text and the manual stay in English.
Everything else
- Save Playlist (M3U8) and opening M3U/M3U8/PLS playlists; playing media from inside ZIP archives.
- First/Previous/Next/Last now work on Media Player, Audiobooks and YouTube. Global search covers podcasts, YouTube, media and audiobooks.
- Upload your subscriptions to gpodder.net; optional Genius and Musixmatch lyrics keys.
- Equalizer window presets persist; cancelling a preset edit restores the sound; the Download History limit skips zero.
- Fixed the minimize-to-tray default and the BASS "already initialized" error code.
Known limits
- Echo In Gain and Gargle Depth have no equivalent on the BASS engine and remain unapplied.
- The new engine and language features are covered by tests, but the translations and DAISY handling have not been checked by native speakers or against a wide range of real books.
RadioMaster+ 1.2.3
RadioMaster+ 1.2.3
The seek slider now works for media files and live time-shift playback.
- Fixed audio duration reporting so the position slider enables for media files.
- Added a visible Seek label and keyboard controls: Left/Right move one second, Page Up/Page Down move ten seconds, and Home/End move to the start/end.
- Mouse dragging seeks when released; playback updates preserve the thumb while dragging.
- During live time-shift playback, Time-shift Position covers the growing recorded buffer, including newly recorded audio. End returns to live playback.
- The time-shift display shows how far behind live you are. Unbuffered live streams keep seek controls disabled.
- Updated the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, and in-app release history.
Start Jump Back to collect a live buffer before using the time-shift slider. The first jump still needs about 15 to 20 seconds of incoming audio.
RadioMaster+ 1.2.2
RadioMaster+ 1.2.2
This release repairs the Quill Radio features and the podcast Refresh Episodes context menu.
- Internet Archive now opens collections, items, and their actual audio files, including AAC. Search results open the item's track list instead of guessing a stream filename.
- Failed sources can be retried. Late source results preserve the selected search row and do not replace another section's list.
- Refresh Episodes closes its menu and returns focus to the episode list before refreshing.
- Podcast folders open with Enter and provide Back to Subscriptions. Unheard badges update when an episode finishes.
- Continue Listening saves progress for podcasts, audiobook chapters, and local media, ordered by recent listening. Podcasts can resume online without a download.
- Song History's Search Lyrics action now opens the requested lyrics lookup.
- Listening statistics include the active session and identify the playing source independently of the visible tab.
- Catalog Status computes quarterly, six-month, and yearly updates using the actual calendar schedule.
- Live time-shift resolves station playlist URLs and reports the buffer's playback position accurately. First-run Skip also supports Escape.
- Updated the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, release history, and feature sign-off checklist.
The first live Jump Back still needs about 15 to 20 seconds to collect audio. It cannot recover audio from before that press. Internet Archive usage terms vary by item; consult its item page.
RadioMaster+ 1.2.1
RadioMaster+ 1.2.1
This patch fixes playback and Continue Listening issues in the Quill Radio additions.
Changes
- Fixed the per-show speed-up shortcut and restored normal speed for shows saved at 1.0 times.
- Restricted per-show speed adjustments to the current podcast episode while playing or paused.
- Made repeated Jump Back presses seek farther back in the active buffer.
- Prevented delayed jumps from switching a newly selected station and kept live playback running when the buffer is too short.
- Converted incoming audio to MP3 for the timeshift buffer, including AAC streams.
- Excluded completed items with known durations from Continue Listening and preserved episode durations from feeds.
- Updated the offline User Manual, Quick Start Guide, and in-app release notes.
Usage notes
The first Jump Back press begins collecting audio and needs about 15 to 20 seconds before buffer playback starts. It cannot recover audio from before that press. Continue Listening Resume currently requires a local file.
Validation
Regression coverage includes repeated jumps, station switches, completed items, episode durations, normal-speed shows, and stale podcast speed controls. GUI tests are run in separate processes to avoid application-lifecycle interference.
RadioMaster+ 1.2.0 — Quill Radio Features
RadioMaster+ 1.2.0 — Five feature areas borrowed from Quill Radio
Quill Radio is a free internet radio player built from the ground up for screen reader users. This release brings five of its best ideas into RadioMaster+, adapted to our BASS engine, wxPython UI, and SQLite architecture.
Reliability: Launch Log and Startup Failure Messages
When RadioMaster+ cannot start, it now says why in words. A launch log records everything that happens before the main log begins. If startup fails, one message reads "RadioMaster+ did not start", the reason in plain language, where the log is, and where to report it. Running from inside a zip without extracting is detected and explained.
Live Time-Shift: Jump Back and Forward 15 Seconds
While a live station is playing, Jump Back 15s and Jump Forward 15s buttons on the transport bar let you rewind and catch up within the live buffer. The status bar says how far behind live you are and announces when you are caught up.
Song History
Tools > Song History shows what songs have played on the current station, newest first, with Copy and Search Lyrics on the context menu.
Multi-Source Catalog and Search Fanout
The Sources section adds three new station sources alongside the Radio Browser catalog:
- SomaFM — listener-supported independent radio (works offline once cached)
- ACB Media — the American Council of the Blind's ten live streams (fully offline)
- Internet Archive — searchable public audio collections
Search fans out across all enabled sources; late arrivals append without moving your cursor. Tools > Choose Browse Sources controls which sources appear.
Continue Listening
File > Continue Listening gathers every unfinished podcast episode, audiobook, and local media file into one list, newest first. Resume continues from your saved position; Forget This One zeros the position without touching the file.
Podcast Folders, Unheard Badges, and Per-Show Speed
Organize subscriptions into folders from the context menu. Each show's row carries an "(N unheard)" badge. Mark All as Played marks every unheard episode at once. Per-show speed (Ctrl+Shift+Up and Down) remembers a playback speed for each show without touching the global rate slider.
Catalog Status and Listening Statistics
Tools > Station Catalog Status shows how many stations are stored, when they were last updated, and the refresh schedule. Tools > Listening Statistics shows how long you have listened, counting only actual playing time.
First-Run Wizard
A new copy shows arrow-through welcome pages. Skip leaves in one keystroke and never asks again.

RadioMaster+ 1.1.102
The installer now always shows Select Destination Location, including during updates. Edit the path or use Browse to select the folder you want. The final confirmation also shows the destination.
In-app updates pass the running copy's folder and portable mode to Setup, so a portable copy moved from E: to F: updates the copy on F:. An older app may still suggest its previous registered location: choose Portable and select your current folder before installing this release.
Updated the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, and in-app release notes.
Validation: updater, service, and manual regression tests passed; the installer script compiled and a small installation fixture honored an explicit destination. Packaged audio-host checks completed before publication.
RadioMaster+ 1.1.101
Starting another item automatically replaces the current playback source, including radio to podcast and back. An unresponsive previous audio process no longer requires manually pressing Stop.
YouTube streams video and audio without waiting for the entire download. The bundled JavaScript runtime is passed to yt-dlp, and delayed YouTube results cannot replace a newer playback selection. Stale radio metadata and podcast resume updates are guarded against source changes.
Updated the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, and in-app release notes.
Validation: 420 tests passed, including the full UI navigation suite; real radio/podcast transitions passed; live YouTube video and audio streamed in 4.8 seconds. Packaged audio-host checks were also completed before publication.
RadioMaster+ 1.1.100
RadioMaster+ 1.1.100 fixes problems identified in runtime logs during rapid station changes and metadata polling.
- Serialize playback starts to prevent competing BASS audio processes.
- Clean up the child process when BASS startup fails.
- Skip overlapping station click-tracking requests and close their responses.
- Stop retrying ICY metadata when a successful stream response provides no metadata framing, including HLS playlists.
- Detect closed or truncated ICY connections so the watcher can reconnect instead of spinning.
- Update the offline User Manual and Help > Release Notes with missing track-title and DNS troubleshooting guidance.
Download and run the Windows installer below to update an existing installation or create a portable installation.
