v0.1.0
4a48734

First public pre-release of blockheads-pc. It runs your own copy of the Android build of The Blockheads (1.7.4 to 1.7.6) on a PC through an embedded ARM JIT (dynarmic). Licensed GPL-3.0-or-later.

No game files are included and nothing is downloaded: you provide your own APK. On first start the launcher asks for it.

Platforms

All six are built and tested in CI (whole workspace, every test; Linux x86_64 also runs the 100% coverage gate and a headless in-game smoke test locally). Online play uses real host sockets on all of them.

Platform Download
Linux x86_64 .AppImage, .deb, .rpm (amd64 / x86_64)
Linux arm64 .AppImage, .deb, .rpm (aarch64 / arm64)
Windows x86_64 _x64-setup.exe (NSIS) or _x64_en-US.msi
Windows arm64 _arm64-setup.exe (NSIS) or _arm64_en-US.msi
macOS Intel _x64.dmg
macOS Apple Silicon _aarch64.dmg

Every bundle contains the launcher and the game runner (bhpc-run sidecar) only.

How to install

  • Linux: AppImage: chmod +x Blockheads*.AppImage and run it. Or install the .deb (sudo apt install ./Blockheads*.deb) or .rpm (sudo dnf install ./Blockheads*.rpm).
  • Windows: run the setup .exe (per-user install, no admin needed) or the .msi. The bundles are not code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn: "More info" -> "Run anyway".
  • macOS: open the .dmg, accept the licence, drag Blockheads PC to Applications. The app is ad-hoc signed but not notarized: on first start right-click it -> Open (or System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> "Open Anyway").

Then start Blockheads PC and pick your own The Blockheads APK.

Notes

  • Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with the game's developers.
  • On Apple Silicon (16 KiB pages) a few invalid guest memory accesses next to valid ones are not trapped; this only matters for buggy code.

Heads-up: on Windows and macOS the game itself has not been tried by real players yet (it passes all tests and CI). If something goes wrong, please open an issue.
