Blockheads PC v0.2.0
Blockheads PC v0.2.0
Alpha. The big change: the PC client now loads mods, so you can join modded servers and play with cosmetics.
Mods
- Mod loader. Client mods run inside the launcher's game: Lua and WebAssembly mods, plus native client mods
(libbhmod host) and JVM client mods (needs Java; switch and Java folder in Settings > Mods). - Join dialog. Joining a modded server shows what the server asks for, with a switch per optional mod, a retry
button, the player count, and the hash of the mods received. If a mod changed, it updates after the game. - Mods screen. Browse, install, update and remove mods in the launcher (Mods area and Settings > Mods), with a
clear install flow, permission and danger badges, and the mods of the servers you play on. - In-game mod UI. Join prompt, F9 panel and toasts inside the game.
- Cosmetics. Hair, clothing and other cosmetics from mods, with auto-wear and hair masks.
- Weapon skins. Mods can reskin the tool a blockhead holds.
- Mod items. Items added by mods get names, validity checks and icons made from the mod's pictures.
- Client and server talk. Mods can call services on the server and the other way round; world events and the
player position reach client mods, and typed/commandswork end to end. - Developer tools. Live mod status, developer reload (also for a game running in its own window), live reload,
and joining localhost.
Launcher
- Update notice. The launcher tells you when a new release is out; click to install, then "Restart now"
restarts it. Updates are never installed on their own. - Tray icon. Clicking the tray icon while the window is open now hides it (and shows it when hidden).
- A note left by the game asks the launcher for an update check at its next start.
- The launcher window follows the window size; new game zoom setting plus a UI scale fine-tune.
- Russian and Kazakh translations of the launcher and the game's messages; Turkish, Russian and Kazakh wording polish.
Fixes
- The game view is phone-sized by default.
- Audio stays silent until the first frame is shown.
- The setup summary rows show again.
- Windows drive paths are treated as local mod index files.
- A mod is compatible with any API version the SDK serves.
