Storage not mounted -> Cannot relink notes

Current behavior

Both of my instances of boostnote faced "no mounted storage", when tried to add it again with source of folder chosen "Add" button does nothing.

I expected it was an issue with drive "sync" restricting access, but copying it to other location did no effect.

I have no clue how to reproduce this, I'm open for suggestions and questions

Have 0.13.0 on win10, 0.12.1 on ubuntu, they were shared using google drive sync & odrive app for linux

Just making sure I understand:

To fix the problem you tried to create a new storage and then move the contents of your old storage to the new storage? Then after restarting/reloading Boostnote there were still no notes?

Yeah, I tried few options

• Adding same folder that disappeared in location it was
• Moving it on desktop (thought it may be some google drive folder permissions bug)
• Creating new storage from within app and copying only 'notes' and 'attachments' into it
• Also copying contents with original boostnote.json
  In every case, after moving contents and reloading storage disappeared and trying to add it back from Preferences -> +Add Storage Location results in no action/response from clicking button "Add"

I can provide you with logs or anything that could help to replicate/find the problem.

Hmmm... So the problem persists even if the folder is on your desktop and properly made and filled with your old notes. Then my best guess would be that one of your notes somehow breaks the storage.

I have two ideas on how we can figure this out:

• You could try to only load a subset of note (or maybe first just a few at a time). Then see at what point the storage break/becomes unavailable.
• You could also zip your storage (if you are okay with sharing the contents of your notes) and then post something like a Dropbox or MEGA link here, so I can try to reproduce this with your exact notes. Once I have downloaded them you could remove the download link if you want.

If anybody else has other ideas on what could be the cause, then please let us know :)

before that you should provide us a screen shot of the Console output from Boostnote developer tools so we can see the files that give failed to parse warnings. If we are lucky It should tell us exactly which files are corrputed.

Your storage is most likely corrupted and needs to be repaired.
