Assist

An easy to use, friendly voice assistant written in Python.

Setup

Python and Git are required.

Step 1 Open a terminal in your desired directory.

Step 2 Run the command git clone https://github.com/Christian-Madlansacay/Assist

Step 3 Go into the Assist folder by running the command cd Assist

Step 3 Open the config.yml file in a text editor and set all the required values to your needs.

Step 4 Run the command pip install -r requirements.txt.

Step 5 Run the command python main.py (python3 main.py on Linux)

How to use

To use Assist, you say the keyword which is "Assist" and wait for it to be detected, it may take a second. You will know when it is detected when you hear the sound effect. After you hear it detected you can say the command you want.

Commands

Time Tells you the time!

Date Gives you the current date!

Weather Gets the weather in your area via GeoIP!

Repeat Repeats you!

Wiki/Wikipedia/Search/Google/Search for Gives you a Wikipedia snippet of whatever you would like!

Joke Tells you a joke!

Exit Exits the program!
