Known Issues + FAQ

BuddyDash is currently in beta, so expect rapid updates, occasional bugs, and UI changes as features evolve.

This thread will be updated as common questions and issues come up.

FAQ

Does BuddyDash work without Bambuddy?

No. BuddyDash is an unofficial Android companion app for Bambuddy and requires a running Bambuddy server.

You must configure:

• Bambuddy server URL
• API key
• Camera/cover token (optional but recommended)

Does BuddyDash connect directly to printers?

No. BuddyDash connects to Bambuddy, which handles printer communication.

Why aren't my printers showing?

Check:

• Bambuddy server URL is correct
• API key is valid
• BuddyDash can reach your server on local network/VPN
• Test Connection succeeds in Settings

If changes don’t appear immediately, try pull-to-refresh or restarting the app after major config changes.

NFC tags not working?

BuddyDash supports NFC actions using links such as:

buddydash://printer/1/clear-plate

Requirements:

• BuddyDash installed
• NFC enabled on device
• Tag written as a URL/URI record
• Correct printer ID or printer name

Printer IDs can be found in:

Printer → Machine tab → Printer details

Are my credentials uploaded anywhere?

No.

BuddyDash:

• has no analytics
• has no telemetry
• has no crash reporting
• does not upload printer data

Credentials are stored locally on-device.

Known Issues

• Beta UI and layouts may change quickly
• Some features may still be rough around the edges
• Edge cases may exist for foldables/tablets
• Please report reproducible bugs through Issues
