Resetting the Database

devin edited this page Sep 18, 2026 · 1 revision

If your database ever becomes stuck or unusable, or you just want a fresh start, then this guide is for you.

From the App

In Settings, at the bottom there is a button in the Danger Zone for this exact purpose. Clicking Reset Database will close the app and wipe all tables automatically. Upon re-opening, it should prompt you with setup and re-fetch everything.

Manually

If the app reset doesn't work or fix the problem (or you can't even open the app), you can manually delete the database file to clear it. First make sure the app is closed, then navigate to this folder:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\com.blals.aimiapp
  • Linux: ~/.local/com.blals.aimiapp

Once open, delete the .db file inside. As of v2, this is called cosmicexpanse.db, but it may change in the future. It should be a few hundred kilobytes. Then just open the app again. It will realize the database doesn't exist and generate a new one, then run through setup again.
