Issues with Steamdeck Input

I like to use the passthrough features so I can get whatever glyphs I'm using in my UI. Recently, my inputs stopped working and I got the following warning in the logs:
Warning: Couldn't setup connection to ViGEm for gamepad support [E0000001]
So I went and installed ViGEm. Inputs are working, but now when I play from my steamdeck, steam on the host machine detects xbox 360. Is there something I'm doing wrong on my end? Is there some way I can go back to using the input passthrough?

That's correct, since vigembus can't emulate steam controller
