Editing that feels right: keys, mouse and Chinese input behave the way a Mac text editor does.
Changes and fixes
- Keyboard movement and selection work like any Mac text field. Home and End, ⌘← and ⌘→ on wrapped lines, ⌥ word jumps, and ⇧ selections land where you expect, and never stop on formatting you can't see.
- Emacs-style ⌃ keys work as they do across macOS: ⌃A, ⌃E, ⌃K, ⌃T, ⌃F, ⌃B, ⌃N, ⌃P, ⌃H and ⌃D.
- Deleting or typing over formatted text, lists, headings and dividers keeps your markdown clean, with no leftover symbols, stray spaces or broken numbering.
- Double-click, triple-click and drag select exactly what you aimed at. The text no longer shifts under the mouse.
- Chinese input: ⏎ and Esc while composing go to the input method in Quick Open, the command palette and find; a word typed right after ⌘B is bolded whole; the word count counts Chinese characters.
- The checked to-do box is centred on non-Retina displays.
Install
brew install --cask ColeMei/pane/paneOr open the .dmg below and drag Pane to Applications.
Pane is unsigned, so macOS will call it "damaged" the first time. Clear the flag once:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Pane.app
