Rambla 1.0.0

First public release of Rambla, a free and open-source scrolling window manager for macOS. Every window is a column on a strip that keeps going past the edges of the screen: opening a window adds a column beside the one you are using instead of shrinking everything else.

Primera versión pública de Rambla, un gestor de ventanas con scroll horizontal para macOS, gratis y open source. Cada ventana es una columna de una tira que sigue más allá de los bordes de la pantalla: abrir una ventana agrega una columna al lado de la que estás usando, sin achicar las demás.

What it does / Qué hace

• One strip per display and per Space, with spring animations. / Una tira por pantalla y por escritorio, con animaciones de resorte.
• Keyboard on ⌃⌘, clear of Rectangle's ⌃⌥: focus and move columns, widths (25–75 %, full width, center), pinned columns, stacks and tabs. / Teclado con ⌃⌘, sin chocar con el ⌃⌥ de Rectangle: enfocar y mover columnas, anchos (25–75 %, ancho completo, centrar), columnas fijadas, pilas y pestañas.
• Trackpad: a three- or four-finger swipe slides the strip; swipe up for full width, down to go back. / Trackpad: deslizar con tres o cuatro dedos mueve la tira; hacia arriba, ancho completo, y hacia abajo vuelve.
• Mouse: ⌃⌘ + wheel goes through the columns, and holding the mouse buttons you choose (the middle one, or the side buttons 4 + 5 together) while moving the mouse slides the strip or changes the width. Works alongside Mac Mouse Fix. / Mouse: ⌃⌘ + ruedita recorre las columnas, y con los botones que elijas apretados (el del medio, o los laterales 4 + 5 juntos) mover el mouse desliza la tira o cambia el ancho. • Plays well with Rectangle: a window that another app moves leaves the strip and stays where it was put. / Convive con Rectangle: si otra app mueve una ventana, sale de la tira y queda donde la pusieron.
• Remembers the layout across restarts, sleep and locked screens; per-app rules and per-display switches. / Recuerda el layout al reiniciar, al dormir y con la pantalla bloqueada; reglas por app y por pantalla.
• Automation: rambla:// links, the rambla command and Raycast scripts. / Automatización: enlaces rambla://, el comando rambla y scripts de Raycast.
• One-click updates: it checks once a day and only installs releases signed with the project's certificate. / Actualizaciones con un click: se fija una vez por día y solo instala versiones firmadas con el certificado del proyecto.
• English and Spanish, following your Mac's language. / Español e inglés, según el idioma de tu Mac.

Install / Instalar

1. Download Rambla.dmg below and drag Rambla to Applications. / Descargá Rambla.dmg (acá abajo) y arrastrá Rambla a Aplicaciones.
2. Rambla is not notarized by Apple, so macOS will not open it the first time: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (on macOS 14, right-click → Open). / Rambla no está notarizada por Apple, así que la primera vez macOS no la abre: andá a Ajustes del Sistema → Privacidad y seguridad y tocá «Abrir de todos modos» (en macOS 14, click derecho → Abrir).
3. Allow it in Privacy & Security → Accessibility: that is what lets it move windows. / Dale permiso en Privacidad y seguridad → Accesibilidad: es lo que le permite mover ventanas.
