Chutes are blocks used to aid in vertical and diagonal item transfer. By default, they function to move items from above to below, interacting with items in the world and also items in inventories. They can branch upwards, and can function alongside Encased Fans to change the direction and speed of items passing through them.

Right-clicking a vertical chute with a Wrench changes the texture to glass, allowing items inside to be visible.

Obtaining

Chutes can be created through the following methods:

Recipe Input Output
Crafting:
2 Andesite Alloy
2 Iron Sheets
4 Chutes

Usage

Default behaviour

Placing a chute directly on top of another chute will cause the chutes to connect. Right-clicking the side of a placed chute will place a connected chute diagonally above it. In both cases, items in the upper chutes will by default fall to the lower ones. This allows for automatic item transport without the need for providing a rotation source.

Chutes can take from inventories directly above and can place into inventories directly below. If no inventory is present directly above the chute, it will take items from the world, and similarly it will deposit items into the world if there are no inventories below. This functions as the only direct inventory/world connection in Create.

A chute does not have a filter slot, but a Brass Funnel can be used above and below chutes to perform filtering.

When fan-powered

An Encased Fan placed above or below a chute system will allow the chute to contain and redirect the fan's airflow. This allows for customisation of both the direction and speed at which items move through the chute.
