📢 Project Update: 200k Downloads, Development Status, and What's Next

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for supporting this project. Whether you downloaded HyperBridge through the Play Store or right here on GitHub, your support had been amazing. We just reached 200,000 downloads—a milestone I never imagined we would hit when I started this!

Many of you have been wondering when the next major update for Hyper Bridge will be released. I want to be transparent with you about where things stand.

🌍 Minor Update: New Languages

Today, I'm releasing a minor update focused entirely on localization. Thanks to our amazing community on Crowdin, I am adding support for several new languages.

Please note: This specific update does not include bug fixes or the new functionalities many of you have requested. Read on for details about those.

⏸️ Why Development Paused

The development of Hyper Bridge had to be put on hold recently due to severe health issues. I needed to step away and take care of myself, as my body physically couldn't handle coding for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Simultaneously, Xiaomi began rewriting parts of their system code in Rust. This caused Hyper Bridge to unexpectedly stop working on certain devices, making it seem like Xiaomi had intentionally dropped third-party app support for the global market.

The Good News: Thanks to reports from the users, we know that Xiaomi's latest OS updates have fixed these framework bugs! Notifications and the Hyper Island are working again for supported devices. If your device still isn't showing the island, please be patient and wait for the latest HyperOS OTA update to arrive for your specific model.

🚀 Planned Features

I am slowly getting back to the code. While I cannot promise an exact ETA for the next major update, here is a look at what is on the roadmap:

• Live Updates Support: Xiaomi is working on a native implementation of "Live Updates" for the Hyper Island (showing as native Android notifications rather than the custom HyperOS design). I plan to add a toggle so you can choose your preferred style: Native Live Updates or the classic Xiaomi notification style.
• Remove Original Notifications: A highly requested setting that will allow the system to dismiss the original app notification and only keep the Hyper Bridge version to reduce clutter. (Please note: This might result in some missed notifications depending on how the system handles it, but since you have been requesting this from the start, I am going to add the functionality.)

🛠️ Upcoming Fixes & Improvements

• Floating Window Bug: Currently, dragging down to open a floating window stops the Island from showing. I will be adding a middle-layer activity so the system knows Hyper Bridge isn't taking over the screen, allowing the Island to persist.
• Stuck Islands: Xiaomi recently reduced their internal notification timeout from 12 hours to 1 hour. I will be adding a fallback timer to forcefully kill stuck notifications so they don't linger on your bar when the timeout runs out. Also, if you have been using Hyper Bridge since the early versions, the old timeout value was defined in milliseconds (ms) instead of seconds (s), which could result in the island getting stuck for a week if not manually dismissed. This update will fix that! Or thats my intention 😉
• Widget Management: A quick-access button to instantly kill/dismiss active widgets.
• Settings Cleanup: Some settings are currently confusing, leading users to request features that actually already exist in the app (like timeout durations and notification panel visibility). I will be streamlining the UI to make these options much clearer.
