Changelog
Excruciatingly verbose, so nobody needs a README update to understand.
Rename decided 2026-11-01: the phrase "Cognitive Commons" in an AI context already denotes Nolan Lovett's "The Tragedy of the Cognitive Commons" (arXiv, July 2026), so the framework was renamed before the old name calcified. Scope, not just discovery: a consent-governed commons generally, AI chat data flow first application, not boundary. Filed in localgit as five commits (format successor; notice + six successors; whitepaper v2; companion docs; manifest) — push pending. CCRFCs are immutable, so the rename is succession, not edits: seven checksum-identified successors, each superseding one founding CCRFC, name only. Founding documents untouched. Post-founding drafts (Unknown-Handling, Title-Clarification, Format-Open-Questions) still carry the old name and Update the founding docs — follow-up, not part of this rename.
One distinction, three states: open genuinely undecided, delegated decided-by-user-variable, resolved decided. Delegated is closed. Honest empty section compliant. Reason: 000 Sec 8 never defined open, so resolved history + delegated closes piled up reading as todos. First None-open section in the set.
Unknown-Handling (Updates 002/003/006): fail-closed + loud hold-and-ask, two-question split, collisions by checksum with user-picks-winner, discovery SHOULD-publish but never required to enforce, status class-digit fallback, audit accounting-not-proof. Title-Clarification v1a (Updates 000): titles hash-free because 000 hashes the title; filenames may carry short. Onboarding slide 9: structural-proof replaced with accounting-not-proof per 005.
Whitepaper + 7 CCRFCs + checksums + readmes + onboarding draft. Founding set frozen, checksums verified roundtrip.
