Important

  • A weak SLM_AUTH_PASSWORD is now refused and the app does not start: it needs at least 10 characters, cannot be a
    very common password and cannot be the user name. Change it before updating if yours is shorter. Accounts created in
    Users keep working with their current password; the new rules apply when a password is set.

New features

  • Quick search from any page: Ctrl+K (⌘+K on a Mac), / or
    the magnifier in the header find games, series, collections, pages and sections of Settings as you type, forgiving
    typos. The arrows choose a result and Enter opens it. Nothing is added to the menus.
  • Login protection against brute force and bots: after a few failed logins every attempt is slowed down, and after
    10 the address and the account are blocked, so guessing one account from many addresses, or many accounts from
    one address, are both stopped. The block grows with each further failure, and a flood from many addresses slows
    every attempt.
  • Behind Cloudflare: the login protection uses the visitor's address. With a Cloudflare Tunnel nothing needs to be
    set; when Cloudflare connects directly, set SLM_TRUSTED_PROXIES=cloudflare.
  • Install guide and templates for Synology (Container Manager) and Portainer.

Improvements

  • New passwords need at least 10 characters and cannot be a very common one or the user name.
  • A short animated tour of the app at the top of the README.

Fixes

  • Windows, macOS and Linux programs: the games folder of the container (/mnt/roms) is no longer scanned by default
    on a computer, an empty covers file no longer shows an error, the keys are logged once, and starting the app twice
    opens the running one in the browser instead of failing.
  • Settings > Notifications: the test button no longer goes out of the page on medium-sized windows.

Unpack it and run the program: on Windows and macOS the app opens in the browser, on Linux open
http://localhost:3000. The settings and the library data are kept next to the program. Docker and Unraid
users update the container instead. SHA256SUMS.txt has the checksums of the files.
