Overview This repository documents practical work performed during my Data Visualization Intern role at Cognifyz Technologies. The work focused on transforming raw finance and operations datasets into reliable, actionable dashboards and reports, with emphasis on data accuracy, automation, and stakeholder-ready storytelling.
Primary tools used: Excel (PivotTables, PivotCharts, Slicers, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, conditional formatting, macros)
Role & Responsibilities at Cognifyz ⦁ Key contributions during the internship: ⦁ Designed and delivered interactive dashboards used by finance and operations stakeholders. ⦁ Performed data cleaning, normalization, and validation across multiple source files. ⦁ Built Excel dashboards (PivotTables, Slicers, dynamic charts) for ad-hoc stakeholder reporting. ⦁ Performed correlation and trend analysis using Excel functions (CORREL, Data Analysis Toolpak). ⦁ Documented end-to-end dashboard logic, data sources, and report generation steps for reproducibility.
Excel dashboards Open excel/finance_dashboard.xlsx. Use the “Refresh All” button to update PivotTables after replacing the data/finance_raw.csv with current data.
Deliverables & Artifacts ⦁ Excel dashboards with PivotTables & macros for stakeholder reporting. ⦁ Documentation: dashboard spec, data dictionary, and report generation SOP.
Key Learnings & Impact ⦁ Built stakeholder-focused dashboards that reduced manual reporting time through automation. ⦁ Improved data integrity and reporting consistency via validation and cleaning best practices. ⦁ Applied correlation and trend analysis to provide actionable recommendations for marketing and finance teams. ⦁ Gained hands-on experience translating business questions into reproducible analytical workflows (Excel).
