v1.69 — Subscriptions on a schedule, budget history and group budgets, split-up group and bill pages
v1.69 — Subscriptions on a schedule, budget history and group budgets, split-up group and bill pages
Latest
- Subscriptions now add their bill on the day it's due, even if nobody opens the app
- Step back through past weeks or months of your budgets on Your Stats, and see how often each went over
- Each group's stats page shows your budgets for its categories, and how much of that was spent there
Merged in #69 on 2026-10-18.
v1.68 — Release workflow: use RELEASE_TOKEN, skip tags the built-in token may not create
No changes you would notice in the app.
Merged in #68 on 2026-10-18.
v1.67 — First-tap Remove, the app's own confirm sheet, invites across browsers, category recaps, GitHub releases
- Swiping a row open and tapping Remove now removes it on the first tap, instead of needing a second one
- Deleting a bill or a category, removing a member, undoing a payment and making someone admin now ask in the app's own sheet from the bottom of the screen, instead of the browser's plain pop-up
- An invite still works when a new account's confirmation email opens in a different browser, like your mail app's own: the link now leads straight back to the invite
- A bill's shared recap and PDF show what it spent per category, and its spreadsheet export (CSV) has a Category column. Sharing several bills adds the per-category totals across all of them
Behind the scenes
- A pull request template, and a GitHub release for every merge (this page)
Merged in #67 on 2026-10-17.
v1.66 — Softer outlines: a quiet border for rows and cards, the strong one for fields
- Outlines around rows, cards and tiles are softer and match the app's greens, so they no longer overpower what's inside them; text fields keep their clearer outline
- The start-date field for a subscription now looks like the app's other fields
Merged in #66 on 2026-10-17.
v1.65 — Put the design system in the repo, and test it against the app
Behind the scenes
- The design system now lives in the repo too (docs/design-system/), with a test that keeps it matching the app
Merged in #65 on 2026-09-29.
v1.64 — Stylesheet split, type/spacing scales, text-size support, pie chart labels, tablet and laptop layouts
- Text follows your phone's or browser's own text-size setting
- Pie charts print each larger slice's share beside it, and tapping a slice or its legend row highlights both and shows that category's amount in the middle
- On a laptop or a tablet held sideways, a bill opens beside the bill list
- On tablets and laptops, stats and graphs use the full width, with sections side by side
- Text sizes and spacing tidied onto one consistent scale
- The "Remove" links for members and guests use the warning colour, and the header's version number is small again
Merged in #64 on 2026-09-29.
v1.63 — Contrast test, dark-mode polish, new icons, loading and empty states, category names on items
- Stats bars no longer cut off long category names or big amounts on a phone
- In dark mode, menus cast a visible shadow, and the phone's status bar turns dark too
- A fresh app icon, with a proper home-screen icon on iPhone
- While a page loads you see a faint outline of what's coming instead of "Loading…"
- Empty screens say what to do next, with a button to do it
- A bill's items show their category's name, under each item or grouped by category with subtotals (Settings > Layout)
- Subscriptions show their category's name too
- The date at the bottom of a printed recap is dark enough to read
Merged in #63 on 2026-09-29.
v1.62 — AAA themes, focus and touch targets, new category colors, offline fonts, red for money out
- Easier to read in light and dark mode: much stronger contrast for text, links and amounts (WCAG AAA), and visible outlines around fields, cards and tiles
- In dark mode, buttons use dark text on brighter colours
- The selected tab, people who've left a group, and messages no longer rely on a faint shade
- A clear green focus ring on every button, link, tab and row for keyboard users
- Easier to tap: bigger "Split with" avatars, and fingertip-sized tap areas around small buttons, links, tabs and switches
- New category colours that are easier to tell apart, plus a colour-blind friendly option in Settings > Layout
- The installed app keeps its own typefaces offline
- What you owe is a clear red, the partner of the green for what you're owed
- Errors carry a warning sign and their own rust colour, so they never look like a debt
Merged in #62 on 2026-09-29.
v1.61 — Invite links for new devices, one-item bill split, README and permissions pass
- Invite links now work for friends who've never opened the app, instead of a "page doesn't exist" error
- Opening an invite or guest-claim link while signed out says why you're asked to sign in, and takes you back to it afterwards, even after confirming a new account's email
- The Invite menu on a group's Members page opens fully on screen
- A one-item bill has its own "Split with" right under the amount
- "Add another item" splits the new item between the same people as the first, and the bill's default is now labelled "Next item split with"
Merged in #61 on 2026-09-28.
v1.60 — Pre-approve Claude Code actions; keep a prompt only for destructive SQL
Behind the scenes
- Claude Code settings for this repo: routine actions pre-approved, with a confirmation kept for any SQL that deletes something
Merged in #60 on 2026-09-25.
