Can I use docker-compose.override.yml?

Hello,

I want use docker-compose.override.yml file to override some images and ports.
I created a private repo on Github and Dokploy uses this repo. There are docker-compose.yml and docker-compose.override.yml in this repo but Dokploy doesn't respect to docker-compose.override.yml.

How can I manage this situation in Dokploy?

Dokploy doesn't natively support docker-compose.override.yml files. When you deploy a Compose application, it only reads the main docker-compose.yml.

Workarounds:

1. Merge your files manually – Combine your base and override configurations into a single docker-compose.yml file, using environment variables for values you want to change per deployment.

2. Use Dokploy's environment variables – Configure image names and other settings as environment variables in Dokploy's UI (under your Compose service settings), then reference them in your docker-compose.yml with ${VAR_NAME} syntax.

3. Pre-process before pushing – Use docker compose config locally to merge your files into one before committing to your repo:

   docker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.override.yml config > docker-compose.merged.yml

The single-file approach with environment variables is the cleanest solution within Dokploy's current architecture.
