GenX Streamer 0.1.28
GenX Streamer 0.1.28
This patch fixes Windows startup on systems that lack the Visual C++ Redistributable. The Windows executable includes the required Visual C++ runtime. Microsoft Edge WebView2 is still required.
- For a fresh Windows installation, extract the entire portable ZIP and open GenX Streamer.exe.
- For an existing Windows installation, use Check for updates or download the Windows x64 executable.
- The signed Android APK is build 1028 and includes ARM64 and ARM32.
Use the release manifest and SHA256SUMS to verify the downloads.
GenX Streamer 0.1.27
GenX Streamer 0.1.27
Android build 1027 supports ARM64 and ARM32. Windows x64 is available as a portable ZIP and an executable for updates.
- Improved phone playback controls and the one-line stream indicator.
- Saved channel scans can resume within seven days from Settings. Cancel keeps saved channels.
- Improved TV remote focus, Guide handoff, and playback recovery. Individual streams still depend on their providers.
- Added a documented Android rescue-update path for preserving saved data.
Use release-manifest.json and SHA256SUMS to verify the downloads.
GenX Streamer 0.1.3
Fixes startup and embedded video positioning on older Fire TV devices, including the first-generation Fire TV Stick 4K Max (AFTKA, Fire OS 7 / Android 9).
Changes
- Guard the vendored Tao dependency's JNI window-metrics lookup by Android API level. Android 7–10 uses compatible display metrics; Android 11+ retains current-window bounds.
- Convert embedded native video bounds from the CSS viewport into the actual Android WebView exactly once. This fixes the doubled offset that placed a cropped picture in the small player's bottom-right corner. Bounds refresh across fullscreen, return, resizing and channel changes; decoder and stream handling are retained.
- Show the installed Android build number in About → This copy: 0.1.3 (build 1003).
- Synchronize the app version, README, landing page, search metadata and updater downloads.
Verified
- Owner confirmed launch, embedded playback, fullscreen, returning to embedded, sound and channel switching on AFTKA / Fire OS 7 with this signed APK.
- Google TV Streamer update preserved its 10.9K-channel library; ACC Network picture playback, fullscreen/return and channel switching passed.
- Windows release playback smoke checks passed for TS, fMP4, AES and byte-range streams, clean exit and saved-library integrity.
- 44 focused browser/playback, Kotlin and Rust checks; JNI API-dispatch coverage for SDK 24, 28, 29, 30 and 36; 21 sharing, About, download and updater interface checks.
- Physical Flip 2 update testing is pending; previous device verification remains documented separately in the README.
