After taking some time away from the project I have come up with a more robust way to allow spoofing of Mac hardware and protect the VM from bad updates.
I have built a fork of RestrictEvents that adds a new parameter called nova, which intercepts and always sets the VMM bit in macOS to false. There is more to this but I am hoping someone would be willing to test this out when I release 3.0.0 in a few days.
