Changes between 2.1.0 and 2.2.0

  • Added: "SERVICE SPECIFICATION" to x11appjail-spec(5).
  • Allowed: unprivileged users to uninstall a locally installed AppJail.
  • Allowed: listing and execution of AppJails installed by unprivileged users:
    • The current approach involves using the list and run commands to display and run AppJails installed system-wide. However, if a user installs an AppJail in their home directory (our APPSCRIPT is designed for this purpose), it does not appear in the list. The other issue is that the run command only executes the AppJail if it is installed or if the user specifies a path.

With this change, a user without privileges could invoke both locally installed and system-wide AppJails using the run command, and the list command would display all of them.

  • Added: test suite for testing, powered by Overlord and FreeBSD's ATF.
  • Fixed: invalid check for GID in APPSCRIPT:
    • id(1) is used as a verifier for this, but it is not valid because it expects a username. getent(1) is our new friend to fix this.
  • Create icons and appsdir if they do not exists.
  • Added: support for multiple profiles in the transfer command
    • The current syntax has the limitation that you cannot specify any other profile, just as with other commands. A new syntax has now been implemented to address this.
    • Do not disable output buffering if the file's contents are to be displayed via stdout.
    • Use the source file name when the destination file name is not specified. This only works if the file comes from a jail.
  • Added: --set-option=nocache to APPSCRIPT.
  • destroy-jail: should success always.
  • Added: -O flag to service command.
  • Added: list-instances command.
