@MiteshShah why don't we set permalinks using wp-cli to /year/month/day/post-name/ i.e. Day & Name ?

It's better to set one default and go ahead. If a user wish to change permalink structure they can.

Can we use date+postname structure?

Most people prefer that for blog posts. Also it is better for performance.

He makes some good arguments for using just postname or category/postname. The performance side of things really isn't a huge issue, especially with caching enabled.

@xiano8494 thanks for link. I have read that before. In fact all Yoast's post!

Even if performance issue is not huge, I think its better to set default structure to date+postname as it is recommended by WordPress and not optional on wordpress.com

Later on user can change it to whatever they want.

I personally prefer %postname% for our sites.

wp-cli version 0.14.0 donen't have --allow-root flag to change the permalink
The issue is fixed in wp-cli but we need to wait till the next release of wp-cli
