I published entire setup series here - http://rtcamp.com/tutorials/mail/server/packages-conventions/

We need some testing. I will create a page with raw mysql commands that easyengine can use to manage virtual mail domains, users and aliases soon (may be next weekend)

I am looking foward to this. It's the only thing missing for me. Windows live domains is getting on my nerves with all its limits.

ee mail will be added hopefully next month.

We started documenting manual process here - http://rtcamp.com/tutorials/mail/
Once we have tutorial/documentation completed and corrected for error/maintenance cases, we will try to add automation in easyengine.

Our experience with Google App's Gmail is also getting worse day-by-day! If Google App ditches free accounts at some point, rather than paying thousands of dollars to them, we will prefer to have our own mail server running.

As a bonus - easyeninge mail module will have migration related commands as well. Till then bare with your current setup!

@QROkes
Can you please explain more about CardDav and CalDav in package context? Are they need to be done at imap-server or apps like roundcube?
If there is a bullet-proof set of instructions for adding support for a feature, we can consider it during development of mail feature.

@willmkt
For now please check manual steps here - https://rtcamp.com/tutorials/mail/
We hope to finish this before month end.

@MiteshShah check http://www.akadia.com/services/postfix_uce.html

@ALL We will be starting work on mail module next week. A request to everyone interested in mail server setup.

Can you please paste links to some articles on mail server security and anti-spam measure you have found useful in past?

We at @rtCamp use Google Apps ourself. So there might be problems related to mail servers, we might have missed first-hand.

I am concerned because, less security might result in more spam passing through and on the other hand, extreme security might flag or reject genuine mails as spam!

Any help in this direction will be useful for all easyengine users. :-)

I have around a months worth of mail logs/logwatch if your interested. I have put together a list of fail2ban jails. Some work some do not, wondering what you have done with fail2ban for httpauth.

@Wayne13 nice. fail2ban is important.

Just found - http://linuxman.wikispaces.com/fail2ban

If you have any some fail2ban config working snippets, please share.

Hi, i have a question about the email server

Will we be able to create only the email server? because some people like to use one server for email and other for hosting.

One more thing, how is going the ee mail development??

Thanks..

@Mermouy it will be great if you create new issue with more details/links.

We have plan to use fail2ban and some more security tools in general for wordpress and other sites. Your details might help!
