DB User only works with "root"

Adding a site: WP-MU W3TC SUBDIR
Command: ee site create wpsubdir w3tc domain.com

If I dont explicitly write "root" when the script ask me for the DB User Name, in other words, if I just press "enter" or write another name for the user (ie. DBusername = testuser), the script dont works and says that cant create the DB table.

DBUserName: ---- FAIL (default is root)
DBUserName: timtest ----- FAIL
DBUserName: root ---- OK

Tested on a totally fresh Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS (AWS micro Instance)

@QROkes As of now easyengine uses previously created mysql username and password.

Can you please try with a mysql user previously created?

In future releases, easyengine will be able to create a new mysql users on the go. We will have it in v1.2 most likely.

@rahul286 I created a new user via phpmyadmin and then I tried to add a new site using the new DB user and it FAILED.
Definitely, only works with "root" user.

Did you grant privilege to timtest to create a database. If you don't give privilege to create a database then easyengine though error like Unable To Create example..com Database

After creating a new user called testuser and grant privilege easyengine works fine.

I did some testing and definitely It doesnt works for me. I created a new user "seko" with ALL privileges or GRANT.

Had a similar issue, it was because i did not have WP-CLI installed

In latest easyengine v1.1.1, easyengine create a separate db user and set random password on the go.
Hence easyengine create a separate db user per site hence i'm close this issue
