The big one: a Memory Workbench that brings a Cheat-Engine-style workflow to the Steam Deck.
🧰 Memory Workbench (new)
Attach to a game, then press Open Memory Workbench in the Quick Access panel for a full-screen page with:
- Address list — add addresses by absolute value (
0x…) or by module + offset, give each a label and a type, and watch its live value. Per row: set a new value, freeze/unfreeze, view in the hex viewer, or remove. - Memory viewer — a hex + ASCII dump of any address.
- Cheat tables — Save / Reload / Delete a table of addresses per game, keyed by its Steam App ID, so your list is there next time.
- Static tagging — addresses inside a loaded module are labelled with the module name.
- Add to Workbench — send any search result straight into the saved table.
Everything from before
Async scans with progress + cancel · live value refresh · value freezing + frozen panel · undo · hex/negative numpad entry · range + string search · auto-detect the running game.
Install (Desktop Mode)
Download memoryeditor-0.5.0.zip below, copy it to the Deck, then:
sudo rm -rf ~/homebrew/plugins/memory-deck ~/homebrew/plugins/memoryeditor
sudo unzip memoryeditor-0.5.0.zip -d ~/homebrew/plugins/
sudo systemctl restart plugin_loader
Requires Decky Loader. Personal project — not on any plugin store; install the attached zip manually.
Notes
- Found addresses aren't guaranteed to be the same after a game restart (ASLR). Saved tables keep your labels and types; re-find the address in a new session, or use
module + offsetfor addresses inside a module. (Pointer scanning, which makes cheats survive restarts, is the next planned step.) - This plugin reads and writes another process's memory. It can crash games. Use at your own risk.
