Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike — native PC port v1.1
A native Windows port of Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike built by statically recompiling the game's own code with the xboxrecomp toolkit. Vulkan renderer, XAudio2 audio, XInput / keyboard and mouse input.
No game data is included — you need your own copy of the game.
Installation
- Download
SummitStrike-v1.1.zipand extract it anywhere. - Copy the entire contents of your Xbox disc (extracted ISO:
default.xbeand all its folders) into thegame\folder. - Run
summitstrike.exe.
Requirements
- Windows 10/11 x64
- A GPU with Vulkan 1.3
- No Visual C++ Redistributable needed any more — the runtime is built into the exe.
What's new in v1.1
- Native widescreen (options menu → Aspect ratio → Native widescreen (fit window)): the camera sees more of the world at the sides for any screen shape — 16:9, 21:9, 32:9 or anything in between — instead of stretching the 4:3 picture. The HUD keeps its proportions; the radar, ammo and team status move out towards the screen's edges (HUD position slider, 0–100 %). The command crosses, the equipment screen and their weapon models stay centred and unstretched. Menus, loading screens and movies stay 4:3. The stretched 16:9 and fill-window modes are still there.
- Keyboard and mouse, done properly: the mouse now turns the view directly, like a PC shooter, instead of imitating the right stick — no acceleration or inertia, no pointer on screen while playing, and slower when zoomed through a scope or binoculars. Works in every aspect mode, in the campaign and in training. The controller is unchanged.
- Rebindable controls: a Controls section in the options menu (Delete / Home) — every action, two keys each, mouse buttons and wheel included; click a slot and press a key, right-click to clear. Mouse sensitivity and invert Y. Saved in
ss.ini. Defaults: WASD move, mouse look, left click fire, right click zoom, F action, R / Enter reload, Q / E lean, Left Shift / Left Ctrl stance, M map, Esc START, Tab BACK. F9 releases / recaptures the mouse. - The exe has its own icon and version information.
Where your data goes
Saves, settings (ss.ini), shader cache and logs: %LOCALAPPDATA%\GhostRecon2SummitStrike\
Known limitations
- The options menu cannot be navigated with a controller yet (keyboard and mouse only).
- Multiplayer / co-op / System Link / Xbox Live are untested.
