There are a few options to backup your settings and reset the system to default, on the EmuELEC menu (start, EmuELEC settings) inside the Danger Zone section you will find the following options:

  • BACKUP EMUELEC CONFIGS
-- This will let you backup the most important settings to the /storage/roms/backup folder (note that this is the mounted path, if you are using a computer to read this file it will be in the third partition EEROMS or on your roms folder in the external drive if you use one or from samba/network share is "roms") on a file called ee_backup_config.tar.gz but please note that some emulator options are not included in the backup.

WARNING!: Make sure you copy this file to a safe place as it will be deleted on next reboot!

To recover your settings, just copy this file to the same path /storage/roms/backup/ee_backup_config.tar.gz and reboot, warning the file will be deleted after it has been applied so make sure you have copy of it.

  • RESET RETROARCH CONFIG TO DEFAULT
-- This will reset just Retroarch to the default config, in case you are having issues with launching libretro cores.

  • RESET EMUELEC SCRIPTS AND BINARIES TO DEFAULT
-- This will reset all of the scripts and binaries included in EmuELEC to those corresponding to the installed version, this is the option you choose if you have problems related to running the emulators, note that some of your settings will be kept.

  • RESET SYSTEM TO DEFAULT CONFIG
-- WARNING this will completely reset all settings to default, use this option ONLY if you want a fresh start, no backup copy will be created, so make sure you create one using the "BACKUP EMUELEC CONFIGS" option first.
