v0.12.0
v0.12.0 - the universal mount release
The v0.12 arc: every extension mounts through one registration surface, the
old mount API retires with machine-checked proofs, and the module tier
becomes truly removable.
Universal mount
- One registration surface:
MountWithAPIonagent.Plugin- all 19 modules
mount through theExtensionAPIbeside the classic seams; no module
reaches around the registry (core/agent split stays compiler-enforced). - Live module toggles: the settings panel toggles modules at runtime, the
registry introspects itself, and dismount undoes by identity (a remount
replays its emitter hooks cleanly).
Engine ring
- Tier law made physical:
http_channel/andtui/move to the repo root as
the always-on ENGINE ring;core/stays stdlib-only (import law enforced
by test),modules/is the toggleable tier. - Kanban namespaces (Q10) - multi-board isolation on the workspace registry.
Retire + prove
- The classic mount stops existing: the last nine capsules mount through the
registration surface and the old API is deleted, not deprecated. - Binary purity is a machine, not a promise:
scripts/nm-purity.shproves
the compiled binary carries zero module nouns for a removed capsule;
double-boot diff and a mutation suite prove removal end to end.
Session + UX
- Sessions pin their model + workspace (composer chip, sidebar caret zone,
'+' mints a session with a continuous placeholder). - Retry moves to the message action row; logs is bottom-hosted only;
fullscreen keeps the sidebars.
Fixes
- Updater: bare
omega updatereports N-behind and prompts;--yesinstalls. - Skills loader reads
<name>/SKILL.md(prod skills were invisible). - Journey harness: orphaned headless chromes no longer poison suite runs.
- SSRF/sqlite/ephemeral hardening from the v0.10 gate wave.
Install or update: omega update (or omega update --nightly for the
nightly channel).
v0.11.0
omega v0.11.0 — the capsule release
v0.11 is the architecture release. The whole engine was restructured
around one law: modules are self-contained capsules, and the core is a
zero-dependency vocabulary. Everything else follows from that.
Capsules: modules that can actually be removed
Every major module (kanban, cron, memory, delegate, mcp, verdict, trust,
web, notifications) now owns its complete stack — tools, panels, routes,
emitter wiring, UI. Each one ships a removal-proof test: unmount the
module and its features die everywhere, provably. A written extraction
recipe (docs/removing-a-module.md, docs/extraction-recipe.md) documents
the boundary for anyone who wants to split or disable modules.
The canvas: one render contract, two frontends
Chat, panels, notifications, toasts — every user-facing surface now
flows through a shared canvas contract with typed view-models. The webui
and TUI are both thin renderers over the same payloads instead of two
implementations of the same product. Chat itself became a canvas panel:
messages, streaming deltas, retry, and variant switching all ride the
same pipe the rest of the UI uses.
A pure core
core/ is now stdlib-only, enforced by a test that refuses any import
outside the standard library — types, events, the canvas contract, and
the seam vocabulary, nothing else. The compat-shim era is over: alias
files deleted, ~50 callers rewired, and the import law is enforced by
the compiler, not by review.
UX fixes you can feel
- Chat retry now streams the new response in place — the old one
vanishes, nothing stacks, and the variant switcher / fork / copy sit
in one row at the bottom of the response - The last main pane can never be closed — and session tab close
buttons always work (tabs are not panes) - Structural dividers run full-extent as a connected frame
- Multi-bind canvas freeze fixed (second browser URL served a frozen
chat panel) - Webui boots even when the model provider is slow or down; the session
sidebar renders immediately - Chat tab busy-state hardening: a finished run can never wedge the
composer until restart
Pipeline hardening
Nightly prereleases now actually attach all six platform binaries
(a persisted-credentials bug meant the release pipeline never fired on
nightly tags), stable releases get a Windows smoke job that executes
the shipped binary before users can, and docs-only pushes skip CI.

v0.10.0 — the verdict release
omega v0.10.0 — the verdict release
The wave after the dock. Conversations now branch, agents can ask you questions mid-run, and finished work rings a bell. 244 commits, 267 files, +31k/−2.2k since v0.9.0.
New in v0.10.0
Conversations branch
- Every retry is now a sibling variant — no more lost answers. Switch between variants with the « 1/2 » picker on any retried message; your selection persists across reloads.
- Fork any message into a new session; pointerless legacy rows derive the same linear path.
Verdict cards
- Agents can pause mid-run and ask you to decide: single-choice, multi-choice, or free-text answers.
- Cards render in the chat stream with a description per option and a live countdown; unanswered cards expire safely after 20 minutes.
- Answer from the webui (click or type) or the TUI (
/verdict). Cron and delegated subagents cannot issue verdicts — only your interactive agent asks.
Ephemeral chats
+ new → ephemeral: in-memory only, never touches the store, invisible to every session-derived surface. Close it and it is gone; reload reattaches, restart kills it (by design).
Finished-things notifications
- The bell counts completed cards; a toast pops when a run finishes; clicking a task notification jumps straight to the right board.
Multi-agent
- Multiple named agent profiles run side by side (
omega agents), each with its own sessions, memory, and skills.
Multi-board kanban
- One binary, many boards: a board registry with per-board switching in the webui panel.
Session management
- Session rename, fork badges, JSONL export, and a rebuilt persistence layer (TurnSink): the agent loop owns all turn writes; channels only render. Session delete is now real — cascade is enforced on every pooled SQLite connection.
Insights + extensions
- An insights tab with session usage analytics, and an extensions inspector for every mounted module.
Dock round 5
- Notification click focuses the kanban pane (no more main-pane hijack), the aligned bottom panel keeps sidebars full-height, tab labels Title-Case.
- Drag-drop: VS Code-style landing zones with ghost chips; empty panes auto-close when their last tab moves out; pane visibility survives reloads.
Under the hood
- Updater channels:
omega update --nightlyandomega rollbackwith a semver gate and.baksafety. - Nightly builds: green dev tips self-tag
v0.9.1-nightly.*with prebuilt binaries on a 48h soak toward master. - SSRF guard hardened: non-canonical IPv4 spellings, IPv6 ULA/link-local, and
0.0.0.0/8are refused on every fetch and redirect hop. - SQLite foreign keys enforced on every pooled connection (was: one in eight).
- Short version stamps (
v0.9.1-nightly.20261022-7eb1a7c1).

v0.9.0 — the dock release
The webui grows up: a VS Code-style dock, a reworked composer, and a
tools layer rebuilt around one idea — every tool is a domain with
dotted actions.
149 commits, 216 files changed (+25,808 / −2,367) since v0.8.0.
Dock & layout
- Panes everywhere: drag tabs within and between sidebars, into the
main pane, and back — sessions stays locked to the left sidebar - Dock chrome: rounded tab corners matching pane fillets, +320 snap
ladder (320/640/960/...), divider close/push restored - The main pane is never closable as the last pane; hover-only X
- Inspector: seven tabs (Files, Cron, Logs, Skills, Tools, Settings,
Kanban) — settings lives here now, no menubar gear
Chat
- Composer rework: morphing send/stop/retry button,
+attach button
vertically centered on the first line - Stacked appearance: your question pins at the top while the agent
body scrolls — and survives appearance switches mid-scroll - Copy message on hover (raw markdown, never the render)
- Tool result display: auto / expanded / collapsed; a running row
expands, collapses when done, a manual click pins it - File tree rows get VS Code-style glyphs
Sessions & surfaces
- Archived sessions group renders last, muted
+ newfocuses the existing draft tab instead of stacking drafts- Kanban board as a webui tab (SQLite store + /tasks endpoints)
- Settings: 28+ knobs, live theme hot-pickup, api_key masked
Under the hood
- Tools action protocol: one tool per domain with dotted actions
(files.write, delegate.task) — labeled sub-actions in the prompt,
dotted sub-rows in the webui, legacy names still aliased - True batch atomicity: snapshot + rollback for multi-file writes
and memory batches - Databases move to
<home>/data/with boot-time migration
(move-not-copy, idempotent) - Attach-image SSRF hardening: the internal-address guard now checks
every redirect hop, not just the first URL - Atomic file writes everywhere (temp + rename): a crash or power
loss can no longer truncate memory or session files - shell.run output capped at 1 MB before buffering; cron fires get
the same 30-min wall-clock cap as chat runs; delegated subagents
kill their whole process group on timeout - Windows build fixed and smoke-tested on real hardware
- CI runs on every dev push; CONTRIBUTING carries the 9-rule PR
admission gate; the embedded SPA bundle now regenerates through a
single lane so parallel webui work can never collide
Upgrading

Databases migrate automatically into data/ on first boot. Windows
binaries are back and healthy.

What's Changed
- feat(agent): concurrent sessions with per-run model state (957c85c) -
/chatstreams now run in parallel. Each request gets its own provider copy viaWithModel(no more globalSetModelmutation), the single-flight guard - which hung a second concurrent chat forever - is gone, the detached title call pins the session's model, and/modelsno longer mutates shared state. Two sessions streaming different models at the same time is now the normal case. - fix(tui): model info queries the selected model (621aebd) - the status bar context window now reflects the selected model instead of the base default; AGENTS.md doc spots swept alongside the renames.
