v0.11.0
omega v0.11.0 — the capsule release
v0.11 is the architecture release. The whole engine was restructured
around one law: modules are self-contained capsules, and the core is a
zero-dependency vocabulary. Everything else follows from that.
Capsules: modules that can actually be removed
Every major module (kanban, cron, memory, delegate, mcp, verdict, trust,
web, notifications) now owns its complete stack — tools, panels, routes,
emitter wiring, UI. Each one ships a removal-proof test: unmount the
module and its features die everywhere, provably. A written extraction
recipe (docs/removing-a-module.md, docs/extraction-recipe.md) documents
the boundary for anyone who wants to split or disable modules.
The canvas: one render contract, two frontends
Chat, panels, notifications, toasts — every user-facing surface now
flows through a shared canvas contract with typed view-models. The webui
and TUI are both thin renderers over the same payloads instead of two
implementations of the same product. Chat itself became a canvas panel:
messages, streaming deltas, retry, and variant switching all ride the
same pipe the rest of the UI uses.
A pure core
core/ is now stdlib-only, enforced by a test that refuses any import
outside the standard library — types, events, the canvas contract, and
the seam vocabulary, nothing else. The compat-shim era is over: alias
files deleted, ~50 callers rewired, and the import law is enforced by
the compiler, not by review.
UX fixes you can feel
- Chat retry now streams the new response in place — the old one
vanishes, nothing stacks, and the variant switcher / fork / copy sit
in one row at the bottom of the response - The last main pane can never be closed — and session tab close
buttons always work (tabs are not panes) - Structural dividers run full-extent as a connected frame
- Multi-bind canvas freeze fixed (second browser URL served a frozen
chat panel) - Webui boots even when the model provider is slow or down; the session
sidebar renders immediately - Chat tab busy-state hardening: a finished run can never wedge the
composer until restart
Pipeline hardening
Nightly prereleases now actually attach all six platform binaries
(a persisted-credentials bug meant the release pipeline never fired on
nightly tags), stable releases get a Windows smoke job that executes
the shipped binary before users can, and docs-only pushes skip CI.
