Compatibility

Because Xeno completely rips out the vanilla OpenGL rendering pipeline, it fundamentally breaks compatibility with mods that expect OpenGL to be there. However, it plays surprisingly well with the vast majority of the Fabric ecosystem.

Tested Hardware Xeno is designed to be highly optimized and doesn't require a massive dedicated GPU. The current build has been actively tested and runs great on the following integrated graphics setup:

CPU: Intel Core i5-1334U

GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics

RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 2667MT/s

Known Compatible Mods I run Xeno alongside a heavy optimization and utility modpack. If a mod is listed here, it is tested and confirmed to work perfectly with the Vulkan backend.

Performance & Logic Optimizations:

Lithium

FerriteCore

ModernFix

C2ME (Concurrent Chunk Management Engine)

Krypton

Alternate Current

BadOptimizations

Spark

Utility, Tech, & HUD:

Litematica (and Malilib)

Simple Voice Chat

AppleSkin

Mod Menu

ShulkerBoxTooltip

Dynamic FPS

Rendering & Visuals:

ImmediatelyFast (Works flawlessly despite touching rendering logic)

Better Biome Blend

Entity Culling (Note: Xeno has built-in section culling, so running this is redundant, but it will not crash your game if you leave it installed).

Incompatible Mods Sodium / Embeddium: These are OpenGL optimization mods. Xeno replaces OpenGL entirely. If you run them together, the game will crash. You do not need Sodium if you are running Xeno.

Iris / Optifine / Shaders: Standard Minecraft shader packs are written in GLSL and rely on OpenGL state machines. They will not work on a Vulkan backend. Do not ask for Iris support.

If you find a visual bug with a specific content mod, please open an issue on GitHub with the mod name and a crash log or screenshot.
