in https://github.com/ddeboer/FOSHttpCacheBundle/blob/master/Resources/doc/varnish.md#purge we say to also purge on cache miss. after being confused, i assume that this is to still purge variants if the requested url was not matched? if that is correct, we might put a note there.

I guess so (well, the URL matches, but not, for instance, the Vary headers). I copied that piece of VCL from the Varnish docs, assuming it’s best practice to also purge on miss.

By the way, I think as much VCL snippets should be removed from the bundle’s docs so as to not duplicate what we already have in the lib’s docs.

ah, in the varnish docs i read "The purge in vcl_miss is necessary to purge all variants in the cases where you hit an object, but miss a particular variant." - maybe we should link that page from our example. or rather, link it in the library and remove the vcl here (i think you already started that)
