About how this project is built

I want to be upfront about something: I am not a programmer.

I have the ideas, the use cases, and the vision for what this tool should do — but the actual code is written by Claude (Anthropic's AI), which acts as the programmer on this project. I describe what I want, we work through it together, and Claude writes and debugs the PowerShell.

This means:

• The ideas and feature direction come from me
• The implementation comes from Claude
• Everything is tested on my real system (you can see the actual crash logs in the wiki!)

I think this is an interesting and honest way to build something. If you're curious about the process, feel free to ask.

What this project is for

ProcessMonitor was born out of frustration — programs crash, Windows tells you nothing useful, and the built-in event viewer is a maze. This tool aims to fix that by:

• Logging every program close system-wide to a daily file
• Flagging crashes with the exit code and a plain-English explanation
• Identifying which process spawned the crashed process
• Showing a mute-able balloon notification when something crashes
• Running completely silently in the system tray
