Hourly Forecast visual refinement

  • Reworked the normal Hourly Forecast into translucent micro-cards so forecast data stays readable over busy LibreDisplay backgrounds and NatureScape scenes.
  • Hourly entries now have a clearer visual structure for time, condition icon, temperature, precipitation, and wind.
  • The existing dense Hourly Forecast remains supported instead of being replaced by oversized cards.
  • Forecast information now sits on controlled translucent surfaces instead of appearing to float directly over the background.

Wind severity is now a compact accent

  • Wind speed no longer depends on fully colored floating text for severity.
  • Wind direction and speed now use neutral, readable text inside a dark/frosted pill.
  • The existing 0–30 mph wind palette is used as a narrow severity accent instead of coloring the whole wind label.
  • Calm winds use icy/light blue accents.
  • Increasing winds move through blue, cobalt, indigo, and violet.
  • Stronger winds transition into crimson.
  • The most severe winds use bright signal red.
  • Existing user-selected Arrange text-color overrides still take precedence.

New Hourly Card Style framework

  • Added an Hourly Card Style setting with:
    • Compact
    • Showcase
  • Compact keeps the normal dense LibreDisplay hourly forecast while using the new polished micro-card treatment.
  • Showcase begins the framework for larger, more visual hourly forecast cards.
  • Showcase mode is currently limited to eight hourly cards to keep the layout controlled and readable.
  • The new framework separates hourly weather data from card presentation so future card designs can become much richer without changing the forecast data model.

New Hourly Weather Card background themes

  • Added selectable static scene families for Showcase hourly weather cards:
    • Atmosphere Only
    • Beach / Ocean
    • Forest
    • Mountain
    • Prairie
    • Wetlands
    • Alpine
    • Arctic
    • Jungle
    • Tropical
    • Cityscape
  • Scene families are local LibreDisplay visuals and do not depend on remote image services.
  • Card scenes can layer real forecast conditions over the selected environment.
  • Initial condition states support:
    • Clear
    • Partly Cloudy
    • Cloudy
    • Rain
    • Snow
    • Storm
    • Fog
    • Day
    • Night
  • Weather data remains provider-driven; the selected scene theme only changes presentation.

Hourly range expanded

  • Added support for an 8-hour Hourly Forecast range.
  • The 8-hour range works naturally with the new Showcase card mode.
  • Existing hourly ranges remain available.

Remote Arrange saves now target the real display

  • Fixed a deeper issue where Arrange changes could save successfully from a remote browser but still fail to appear correctly on the physical LibreDisplay.
  • The Pi/server configuration is now authoritative whenever a saved server configuration exists.
  • Kiosk browser localStorage is now recovery-only.
  • A stale browser-local configuration can no longer override a newer remotely saved layout just because its local timestamp is newer.
  • Local browser storage may seed the server only when no server configuration exists at all.
  • Server configuration polling now applies changed server snapshots regardless of browser-local timestamp ordering.

Physical display reloads are now acknowledged

  • Remote Arrange Save still requires successful persistence and server read-back verification before the editor closes.
  • The saved layout is immediately reapplied to the remote editing session after verification.
  • The selected physical display is explicitly sent a reload request after a verified Arrange save.
  • Targeted reload and refresh commands now include the saved configuration version they are waiting for.
  • A targeted reload remains pending until the physical kiosk reports that it actually loaded that saved configuration version.
  • Missed live-event delivery can therefore recover through the kiosk heartbeat instead of silently leaving the wall display stale.
  • Targeted commands are cleared only after the kiosk confirms the expected configuration was loaded.
  • Untargeted manual reload and refresh behavior remains one-shot.
