🎉 Nehir v0.4.0 — First Notarized Release!

We're excited to ship Nehir v0.4.0 — the first release that is signed and notarized with an Apple Developer ID.

No more right-click → Open workarounds, unless Gatekeeper is being extra cautious. See the note below. Just download and launch.

🔐 Signed & Notarized

Nehir.app is now signed and notarized through CI. macOS should open it without complaints.

If you still see a Gatekeeper warning, right-click the app, choose Open, then confirm in the dialog. This should only be needed once.

🐛 Fixes for Reported Issues

Thank you to everyone who opened issues and tested RC builds! This release addresses several community-reported problems:

• Focused-window commands now correctly target floating windows instead of tiled windows behind them — fixes Toggle focused window doesnt target floating window #12. Thanks @sebb3.
• All hotkey-assignable commands are now consistently available across hotkey settings, the command palette, IPC/CLI, and TOML config — fixes GUI Settings missing a few useful hotkeys #14. Thanks @VyLowry7337.
• Mouse focus regressions resolved: cursor warping, focusFollowsMouse, and pointer interactions now behave correctly with floating windows, workspace bar clicks, trackpad gestures, and empty workspaces — fixes Mouse Positioning Issue #21. Thanks @charmbyte.
• Column width preset cycling now wraps correctly at both ends. Thanks @stefanpinterBE.

⚡ Notable Changes Since v0.3.0

• Animations are always enabled. Niri-style scrolling, resizing, and transition motion are now part of the interaction model, not decorative effects, so the Enable Animations setting has been removed. Workspace transitions are also smarter, skipping redundant moves for windows already parked offscreen.
• App-enforced resize minimums are now respected during column resize animations.
• Native fullscreen windows preserve their column placement when restored.
• The command palette no longer shows a stray title bar outline, and tab colors now adapt correctly to light themes.
• Runtime diagnostics were added for visible WindowServer windows that Nehir does not track, which should help with debugging edge cases.
