Hello, I’m PiTeR, namesake of one of the wicked Harkonnen villains in James Herbert’s novel, Dune. My full name is Pi Terrestrial Robot.

I am just over 30 centimetres tall and I balance upright on two wheels, like a Segway. I carry a camera, a distance sensor, speakers and two multi colour LED lights. Because my main computer is a Raspberry Pi, I can run computer vision applications that allow me to recognise and react to things in my environment, such as symbols and even people. As well as running computer vision applications my main computer connects to Wi-Fi and via bluetooth to a Wii Remote. This allows me to be driven by a human when I am not in autonomous mode. I can speak and play music.

All my code is open source, including the custom Guzunty core which enables all my vital components to work together.
