Quest Tools 1.2.0
Quest Tools 1.2.0: survives updates, stays connected, does more
A big update for Quest 3 / 3S owners: Quest Tools now repairs what firmware updates undo, finds your headset on the network, sideloads games with OBB data, shows the headset on your PC, and adds modes, storage cleanup and battery insights.
🔄 Survives firmware updates
- Remembers your Horizon OS version and disabled packages per headset. When an update switches them back on, Quest Tools asks on the next start and restores the pre-update state with one key (
repair update, menu r → 4). - Protected and must-keep packages are never re-disabled.
- Automatic safety snapshot of all settings before packages are disabled, settings are restored or an update is repaired (the last 10 are kept).
📶 Wi-Fi ADB that stays
wifi find: scans your network and reconnects to known headsets, even when the IP has changed.- Automatic reconnect when nothing is attached.
wifi keep on: whenever the headset is on USB and Wi-Fi ADB is off (e.g. after a reboot), it is switched back on automatically.
🎮 Sideloading with OBB data
apps installtakes APKs, OBB files or a whole game folder. Split APKs are installed together, and OBB files go to/sdcard/Android/obb/<package>/with progress.
🖥️ Live view on your PC
mirror(menu 7 → m): the headset picture in a window via scrcpy. One eye is cropped by default, and the display stays on without wearing the headset. Optional recording.- scrcpy is installed automatically on first use: the latest release from GitHub, SHA-256 verified against the asset digest and
SHA256SUMS.txt, kept in Quest Tools' own folder. An existing installation is used if present.install-scrcpy --updateupdates it.
🎚️ Modes (menu m)
- normal, streaming, battery, private (offline), plus your own saved modes. Switches performance and network settings in one go, and one undo reverts a whole switch.
🧹 Storage cleanup (menu 5 → 6)
- Overview of free space and what uses it, plus the biggest apps with their last-played date.
- Safe cache clearing (
pm trim-caches): data and save games are untouched. - Games not played for N days: back up their save games and uninstall them in one step.
🔋 Battery & temperature (menu 1 → 6)
- Warnings in the status bar for low controllers, a low headset battery and heat.
- Estimated battery health from the charge counter, drain/charge rate with time left, and a sample history.

Quest Tools 1.1.0 - Repair
Quest Tools 1.1.0: Repair
This release adds a Repair area that detects and fixes the classic debloat accidents on the Quest 3 / 3S. Each fix repeats the procedure that actually solved the problem on a real headset.
🩺 New: Repair (menu r or questtools repair)
| Symptom | What Repair does |
|---|---|
| Purchased apps disappear, show up under Unknown sources or say "not purchased" | re-enables the store chain (ocms, store, credentialsmanager, horizon, platform services), refreshes the library and reboots. The full purchase (entitlement) sync only runs at boot |
| Store apps won't download or install | the same fix. It also detects offline mode and offers to switch it off |
| Home panels, library and universal menu missing (only passthrough + system bar) | enables com.oculus.ocms and restarts the VR shell (optionally clears the shell's data against crash loops) |
| Controllers / 6DoF tracking dead | detects the crashed tracking service and reboots. It cannot be restarted from adb |
- Repair check (
questtools repair) looks at package states, offline mode, running services and known error lines in the system log (not in users library,Entitlement … not found,OVRLibrary: null cursor,Placement request Timeout, tracking-DSP crash), then names the fix. - Every repair has a dry run, and every package change is journaled and can be undone.
Other changes
doctornow reports these failure patterns and points to the matching repair.- Forcing
storeorcredentialsmanageroff prints an explicit warning about broken purchases/installs. - Package explanations for
ocms, storeandcredentialsmanagernow describe the exact symptoms. doctorshows active performance overrides in plain words (e.g. resolution 1651x1766).- README: new Troubleshooting section.
