v0.6.0
-
Added wheel distributions for Python 3.14.
-
Officially supports the free-threading mode (also known as No-GIL mode), which was introduced experimentally in Python 3.13 and stabilized in Python 3.14 (still opt-in).
Caveat: Using habachen with a free-threaded build does not automatically make it faster. However, you can safely call the library’s functions from multiple threads, which can improve efficiency with minimal effort.
Of course, you can continue to use this module with normal (GIL-enabled) builds as before.
v0.5.2
v0.5.1
v0.5.0
-
Added pyproject.toml, following PEP 517/518.
-
Slight performance improvement: now use the stack memory for fixed-size temporary buffers in hiragana_to_katakana() and katakana_to_hiragana().
-
More consistent and precise error handling: assure that hiragana_to_katakana() raises a ValueError when hankaku option is set to True and the ignore optional string contains characters that are not convertible to hankaku katakana. Previously, even though neither 'ゐ' (U+3090) nor 'ゟ' (U+309F) has a corresponding hankaku katakana, only the latter triggered an error.
