Cloud Types:

  • Public cloud:
    • A hosting provider owns and maintains the underlying cloud infrastructure
    • Others rent these services
    • No upfront cost. Pay for what you use.
  • Private cloud:
    • Organization creates its own cloud environment in its own datacenter
    • Organization manages and maintains the underlying infrastructure
    • Involves upfront cost
  • Hybrid cloud:
    • Organization have flexibility over choosing where to host their application components
