HRPD:

  • When the run ends or is in setup the shutters read back lists intermediate state. This confuses scientists as to if they are collecting/loosing data. They would like to see a simple open/closed read back.
  • Monitor count changes to scientific notation at large values (100,000+) and it becomes impossible to tell if it's changing. They don't want this and would like to be able to see if the value is changing.

IMAT:

  • Galil motor showed a status of moving but it was not obvious which motor was specifically moving. Apparently Freddie was able to find out what motor was moving by checking files.

ENGIN-X:

  • Can we have support for coloured printing for scripts? I.e., colour a specific functions output to blue.
  • They would like to have readback of their intermediate shutter.

GENERAL:

  • The layout of views change be changed to fit the sub views that exist within them, however, they are not saved when moving between perspectives. Currently don't use these as it's tedious to re-configure each time. Making specific arrangements for multiple configurations is unfeasible.

  • Journal viewer - Multiple pagination are annoying. Can we have a scrollbar or infinite list? Too many checkboxes. Can we save which boxes are checked.

  • Blocks - Can we customize the blocks with colours or bold fonts. Can the blocks auto-resize and compress into single columns to save whitespace and improve readability?

  • Run control – Is it possible to have alerts when bounds are broken using text/slack/apps?

  • Alarms - We just ignore them. They make sense in the perspective of IBEX but sometimes not for the instrument. Can they be configured in a useful way: Switch off selected alarms or use sub configurations to load/unload kit.

  • Scripting Server - Can it detect subroutines within a script?

  • Calibration files having units is good. We need to go through and update them.
