Themes

• Breaking Change - Updated to Ignite UI Theming 30.0.0. The palette() function builds palettes with the new fitted generator by default, which places every shade by contrast and emits it as a fixed color. The predefined palettes and the pre-built themes keep the legacy generator and are unchanged.
  • ng update adds $generator: 'legacy' to existing palette() calls, so they keep the colors they produced before. Remove the argument to switch a palette to the fitted generator.
  • The deprecated light-theme, dark-theme, and the other deprecated theme wrapper mixins build their palettes with the legacy generator.
• Breaking Change - Component themes take their background from the base surface role, --ig-surface-base, instead of --ig-surface-500. Override the surface roles (--ig-surface-base, --ig-surface-raised, --ig-surface-overlay, --ig-surface-sunken, --ig-surface-container) instead of --ig-surface-500 to change the surface at runtime.
  • The numbered surface shades, such as --ig-surface-500, are deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Palettes still emit them under both generators, and in a fitted palette --ig-surface-500 points to --ig-surface-base.

Behavioral Changes

• IgxCarouselComponent
  • stop() is now a no-op when the carousel is not playing, so carouselPaused is no longer emitted for an already stopped carousel, for example on every mouseenter or when navigating with the keyboard past the first or last slide of a non-looping carousel.
  • The carousel starts playing automatically only once, when its slides are initialized. Adding or removing slides no longer resumes a carousel that was stopped, unless its automatic rotation ended on the last slide of a non-looping carousel.
  • The aria-live region of the slides is now off only while the carousel is rotating automatically. Previously it stayed off whenever an interval was set, even after stop() was called or a non-looping carousel reached its last slide.
  • The automatic rotation of a non-looping carousel now ends on its last slide also when pause is false: isPlaying becomes false and carouselPaused is emitted. Previously the carousel kept playing on the last slide.
  • Touch gestures now follow the carousel orientation: a vertical carousel sets touch-action: pan-x instead of pan-y, drags across the carousel axis are left to the browser for scrolling and no longer resume a carousel paused by a tap, and a pan starts only after the touch moves at least 5px, the distance below which it is recognized as a tap.
• IgxStepperComponent
  • In linear mode, the steps after the first invalid step that is not optional or disabled are disabled, wherever the active step is, as in the Ignite UI for Web Components stepper. Previously only the active step and the steps after it were checked, so an invalid optional active step disabled the steps after it, and an invalid step before the active one did not. The disabled steps are also recalculated when the optional state of a step changes, and the step activated with navigateTo or its active property is no longer displayed as disabled.
  • The vertical animations now use the default animationDuration of 320 milliseconds instead of 350. animationDuration also falls back to 320 instead of 350 when it is set to a value that is not a positive number.
• IgxSplitterComponent
  • Resizing panes with the arrow keys now updates the pane size and emits resizeStart, resizing and resizeEnd for each key press, as a pointer drag does. Previously only a temporary size was applied, resizeEnd was not emitted and percentage or auto sized panes no longer adjusted to the splitter size.
• IgxTimePickerComponent
  • When locale is not set, the picker now follows the global locale set with setCurrentI18n and updates its default formats and resource strings when it changes, as the date picker does. Previously it kept the locale it was created with.
  • clear() with a Date value now assigns a new Date with its time reset to 00:00:00 and notifies ngModel and reactive form controls. Previously it changed the bound Date object in place, so forms were not updated or re-validated.

Build-environment SBOM diagnostics (best-effort)

The build-environment CycloneDX SBOM is a best-effort inventory of the repository toolchain. npm dependency-tree errors are tolerated there and do not affect the delivered-package SBOM.
