How to use the software

Create a new Bachy

To create a backup, you need to define a "Bachy" (pronounced "backy" like in Backup). A Bachy simply specifies which files/folders to copy to a specified destination.

You can create a new Bachy by clicking on the "Add" button above the list of Bachys.

You can choose a name and an icon (emoji) for your Bachy.

Add files to a Bachy

To add files to your Bachy, you can simply drag and drop them into the Bachy. Please note that links are not followed. If you add a link to a folder or a file, only the link is copied and not the file the link is pointing to.

Save your Configuration

To save your backup configuration, simply click "Save" in the top right corner. You will be prompted to choose a location. The file extension is ".bach".

Load Configuration

To load a configuration, click the "Load" button in the top right corner.

Note: Loading a new configuration will discard all unsaved changes!

Do the Backup

To back up all data from a single Bachy, select your Bachy and click "Backup". Ensure you select a target/destination for the backup.
